Competition is encouraged even in Communist China. Read Alice Iserbyte’s work (She has been on education for 4 decades)-They traced the “choice” model to commie China. BTW-we already have “competition” within corporate run Houston ISD-I can apply for a magnet school based on Art,medical professions,Law Enforcement (note the push toward career clusters),etc.. I can also apply for a charter school like the Turkish Gulen chain called Harmony with their schtick being Science, Math,Technology (that they are Islamic-associated is no PROBLEM), or I may wish to send my child to an Arabic Immersion School. You CAN ALREADY avoid the public school in your neighborhood. What these Bill & Melinda Gates “Choice/Charter pushers are not letting you know is that schools will be run by NGO’s, Foundations, corps etc...to help funnel the kiddos into the global workforce to spin profits for the global economy.
The American Model was to provide an across the board liberal arts education in order to maintain a free society. The charter/privitizing model is communist in its bent toward “training” kids for a planned economy. We need the PRE-1965 model back that the globalists/Marxists turned into brainwashing centers DELIBERATELY!
You must analyze EVERY WORD they throw at you. They speak in code.

I know someone who taught at one of the Gulen schools.
They are pretty much a pure scam.
