A top tech executive was arrested Wednesday near Seattle after police said he tried to pay for unprotected sex with a girl he allegedly thought was 15 years old.
Dov Katz, the head of computer vision at Oculus VR, was charged with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor after he allegedly fell victim to an undercover sting operation orchestrated by the Tukwila Police Department, Gizmodo reported.

I’m willing to bet you everything in my wallet that the pictures on her “profile” were of some girl who the police didn’t get permission from, and that the picture was of a girl over 18, and that there were no explicit photos sent or received.

The police are wasting taxpayer money (YOUR MONEY) to create criminals. They aren’t using that money to catch real criminals. That should worry you.
I’ve watched the FBI do one of these. They go in to a chat site as “Melinda/13” or something like that and are immediately inundated with slugs sending “Melinda” all sorts of wiener pics, etc. It’s pretty disgusting. It is a real easy case to make.

Because many of them are attracted to the features of children instead of the features of adults. Some feel no attraction to adults at all. And masturbation is nothing compared to real sex the mind craves 24/7/365.
The same thing a normal man feels when he sees a pretty adult woman, a pedophile feels when they see a child that looks a certain way.
All normal humans have the innate desire to be sexual: exchange fluids with an “attractive” partner. However, what the mind deems “attractive” can be greatly skewed in some individuals. So we see gays, pedophiles, bestiality and even attractions to intimate objects.
The sex drive is so overwhelming in some individuals that it can make them give up family, careers and even their own freedom/health. It is like Heroin to them and they will give up everything for one “hit”. Only that hit is your wife or daughter.
Repeat sex offenders likely can never be rehabilitated and should not be released IMO. If someone is willing to risk their freedom again after being jailed, they have no control and nothing will stop them

So if thinking the adult is a minor makes it a crime, does thinking the mimor is an adult make it not a crime?

Ok, I hadn’t read the details that he was never with a young teen. But still, what I said has validity for the people who do. And he wanted to, and may have already!!
It’s just hard to believe people willing to wreck kids for their jollies. I know the sex drive is strong. Every cat dead on a freeway was following his b*lls to a female in estrus on the other side. But still.
I agree that repeat offenders should never be let out, and I am ok with them not being allowed to live. Damn right they will never stop. My abuser went younger and younger and when he was finally caught he had descended to preschoolers.

So, if a girl lies to you and says she is 18, 20, or whatever. But is actually 15, or 16. You are still going to prison, do not pass go, do not collect $200 dollars.....ever again.

If he said he wanted to have sex with a child, I’m sure that would have been included in the article. Some of the texts were, and they were pretty ambiguous.

The problem is that the police are violating the constitutional rights of men. They are charging men with sex crimes where there was no victim and no harm done to anybody.
You should be worried about the real pedophiles out there that the police don’t catch and aren’t even looking for. The ones that are lurking on kid sites, social media, and other websites. Real pedophiles don’t look for victims on adult websites.
