In retaliation for a United Nations resolution that called their settlements illegal, which the U.S. refused to veto, Israel recently announced that they would be curbing their working ties with 12 nations, who voted in favor of the resolution last week (via CNN):
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his nation's foreign ministry to temporarily limit all working ties with the embassies of the 12 UN Security Council members who voted in favor of Friday's resolution on West Bank settlements and who have diplomatic relations with Israel, two senior Israeli officials tell CNN.
The officials said that business with the embassies of those countries -- Britain, France, Russia, China, Japan, Ukraine, Angola, Egypt, Uruguay, Spain, Senegal and New Zealand -- will be suspended, the officials said.
Netanyahu will not meet with the foreign ministers of those countries and their ambassadors will not be received at Israel's foreign ministry, the officials added.
The UN has been unable to bring about a peaceful end to the Syrian Civil War and the ensuing humanitarian crisis in the city of Aleppo, but they had time to push this through. David Keyes, the spokesman for Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu, said they have ironclad evidence that the Obama administration crafted and pushed for this resolutions passage.

Russia could have vetoed the item.
And it appears that the only people in the USA that care about Israel’s survival are American Christians. How sad for Israel!
What has the UN ever done for us lately? Other than host cocktail parties with endless shrimp hors d'oeuvres on toothpicks and letting diplomats park all over Manhattan any way they like - clogging up traffic for everybody else?
Any of the big five nations could have vetoed it.
Since Russia seems to be spending much effort in Syria, I think we can see Russia's logic in its no-veto.
Russia has never been a friend to Israel. They funded the PLO.
True.
However, why should Israelis care when they have U.S. aid, fighter jets and tourists? I don't believe they do care.
They do a booming tourist business from U.S. Christians who flock to the Holy Land. My Presbyterian friend and I [Catholic] went there in 2011. WHAT a fabulous tour.
Steve and Janet Ray do a wonderful tour called "In the Footsteps of God."
Every Christian ought to save his pennies and see the Holy Land.
And it appears that the only people in the USA that care about Israels survival are American Christians. How sad for Israel!
And this is sort of approaching last days prophecy with all these nations turning against Israel.
So couldn't have Britain, France, China, Japan, Ukraine, or Egypt, purported allies of the United States or countries with a working relationship with us. Any one of them could have made the statement "that with a new administration imminent in the United States, and surely a new foreign policy, it was vetoing the action as premature."
The American conservative Jews also care about Israel. Our number may be only 30% or so of the total, but we are here. There are more of us than the leftwing MSM want to admit.
Only the permanent members of the Security Council, so-called “big five,” have veto power. These are China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The other countries could have voted “No,” but that would not have changed the outcome unless a majority of the Council so voted.
This is truly a shabby affair. It is not a proud moment for any of these nations.
I could look it up but who are the two who voted for the resolution that are not on the list?
And why were they excluded from these actions?
Russia missed one last chance to put a dagger in Obama’s back by not vetoing that measure. Wouldn’t that have been sweet!
I have to wonder what dog New Zealand has in this fight.
Some of those 12 are probably happy to get a break from Israeli espionage.
I'm sure they do.
The Israeli Jews NEED the Israeli Muslims. The former WON'T do some kinds of work, such as washing toilets, and the Muslims, generally being on the bottom of the $$$totem pole$$$, need the work. Their bosses, of course, treat them well, since they need their labor. Eventually both sides find a certain "workability" in the relationship. Not surprising that they discover humanity in each other....family, jobs, errant 18-year-old sons, taxes, etc.
The "Palestinian Arab Roman Catholics," which the community calls itself [and are allowed to do so no matter how un-P.C. it may be to others], are the middle-men.
*Being Arabs themselves they can speak to the Israeli Muslims.
*Being Christians as well they are allowed to deal with the Israeli Jews.
Also SO many Jews are NOT permanent residents of Israel. We were told that they often have three residences: New York area, Florida areas and Israel.
The PERMANENT Israeli residents, Muslims and R.C. Palestinian Arabs, get along with their masters because they have to. Their nation-in-common works.
All of these countries voted in favor of this crap resolution!!??
Add in the United States abstention and we have the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council turning their backs on Israel.
Stunning. Prophecy fulfilling itself?
He should have dismissed the US ambassador.
