“How about the Israelis annex the West Bank and expel all the Arabs?”

After what Jordan went through in 1970, no Arab country wants Palestinians - often leftists & thugs.

“By right of conquest, the West Bank should belong to Israel.”

The borders were set up long along. I believe mainly by the British.

I believe incorporating land by conquest is now verboten by international law.

“A so-called ‘two-state solution’ is never going to work if the inhabitants of one state are sworn to annihilate the inhabitants of the other.”

Yup, big problem.

“And I don’t see that mindset changing until the Israelis kick the living dog crap out of the Palestinians.”

The P’s still produce plenty of “dog c”.

<sarc>Hmmm, yes, that should have been clear enough. </sarc>

Of course, the proper way to incorporate land is to move in and outbreed the locals. Apparently there ain't no law agin' that. (Certainly not in EU or NA.)

Understandably so. Thus it will be incumbent on the "world community" to either find a place(s) nobody else owns or wants or to purchase such a place and move the Palestinians to their new digs. Denmark might be prevailed upon to sell Greenland, e.g. Or the USA might be willing to donate Shemya to the cause...

The borders were set up long along. I believe mainly by the British.

And the borders were authorized an approved by the UN. Importantly, Jewish settlers actually owned virtually every square inch of what is now Israel, having bought the land from the Arab landholders.

I believe incorporating land by conquest is now verboten by international law.

If there is such a law, it is unenforced. Moreover, the Israelis conquered the West Bank in 1967 -- when I'm virtually certain such a law did not apply.
