Frustrated after seeing another candidate secure the presidency without winning the national popular vote, mostly Democratic lawmakers in several capitols want their states to join a 10-year-old movement to work around the Electoral College.

In states including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Mexico, legislators have said they plan to introduce legislation that would require their state's Electoral College voters cast ballots for the presidential candidate who earns the most votes nationwide, regardless of the statewide results.

"Every vote in this country should have equal weight. The Electoral College is a relic of a bygone era, and we need to change this system," said Connecticut state Sen. Mae Flexer, who filed a bill with several fellow Democrats requiring Connecticut to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

There is a way to get rid of the Electoral College...do it VIA a Constitutional Ammendment... you dont have the cajones to do that because its SO HARD to do and with all those time outs for safe space it would take forever and a day...
I have yet to see a pundit on TV talk about the Constitutional ammendment process...probably because its easier to bitch than work...but i digress...
so you whiney folks push this thru and watch TRUMPS strict constructionist court tell you to start all over again and go thru the Consitutional convention process

I would just keep responding, After all illegal votes are removed from the voters rolls, we’ll talk. When they start whining you know you over the target.

The Electoral College is a relic of a bygone era, and we need to change this system," said Connecticut state Sen. Mae Flexer.

"The First Amendment is a relic of a bygone era, and we need to change this system," said Connecticut state Sen. Mae Flexer.

"The right to bear arms is a relic of a bygone era, and we need to change this system," said Connecticut state Sen. Mae Flexer.

Wow, that was easy, wasn't it?

Mae Flexer is the Union Democrat my oldest daughter ran against in 2008 here in NE CT. My Gen. Dyn. Electric Boat Union card holding Republican daughter. No chance in the execute all Republican on sight year of Obama.

They think a Republican will never win the popular vote again. This is the election "fix" Trump was warning about.

they cannot do this., we are in USA and we have a constitution. THEY CAN propose a constitutional amendment if they wish, and who knows it could possibly pass someday just like the (mostly harmful, alas) 17th amendment (not to mention the extraordinarily harmful 16th amendment)

our country does provide proper mechanisms if the D leftwing wishes to pursue their agenda

It essentially turns those states into vassals of NYC and California.

Totally the same as canceling the votes in those states even if the other candidate wins the most votes there!

This must be stopped. Using the popular vote to elect a President is unconstitutional.

Once patriots work with Trump to peacefully “force” the corrupt feds to surrender state powers that the feds have stolen from the states back to the states, then even the Democrats will lose interest in DC imo.

Exactly. If the Left gets their way, it’s game over for our Republic. This is an issue worthy of bloodshed... a lot of bloodshed.

Completely constitutional.

I hate the idea. But I think you're right. The Constitution gives the states have great latitude in how they assign their electoral votes.

So folks need to take this threat seriously.

If some states illegally alter the contract of the Constitution, then that contract is no longer valid.

...

So they want to disenfranchise their voters and go with whoever the illegal aliens pick in CA.
