Obviously White Evangelical Christians could care less what Moore had to say about the election since 80% chose Trump. Now, after they refused his condescending criticism and advice they will hopefully succeed in defunding him. Assuming the SBC is worthy of support, a better idea would be to call for Moore's resignation.

Moore's charge over illogical thinking applies most to him. His high and mighty self is illogical in abstaining from voting as an evangelical Christian. That equates to the passive acceptance of a strong possibility that leftist justices would be appointed to scotus. The 'sin against conscience' has become a broad pathetic term to excuse personal prejudices against a candidate. It is untruthful and reeks of selfishness. He and others are abusing the phrase to avoid argument or they are liars. And by its extension this term is being replicated by both party delegates and electors. If an elector or delegate feels so greatly guided by his or her conscious to abstain or change the vote, he should immediately step aside and allow the alternate to take his place.

If he is really sorry, then he will resign. Then I can forgive him.

Got a relative that espoused similar. Good grief, I told him, you ARE going to get one or the other; CHOOSE.

“And by its extension this term is being replicated by both party delegates and electors.”

Sure, your “conscience” can apparently shield you from anything, except actual matters of conscience that are caused by your religious beliefs, like not performing or subsidizing abortions. Then if you try to claim it’s a matter of conscience, the force of government must be used to punish you.

I notes early stereotyping of Trump by my Southern Baptists friends. I am not sure how it got started. But faced with the satanic hillary they quietly joined the Trump movement. It was weird. Some of their leaders wanted Cruz and some Rubio? actually many of the faithful don’t understand politics very well. they seem to have blinders on and talk about “ American Idle” or “dancing with has beens”. They don’t have a clue about anything but their “church” politics.
But they got on board this time and it was decisive.

Isn’t Moore the same guy who runs some kind of evangelical pro-immigration group?

The Bible teaches nationalism. In fact, nationalism is the fundamental result of the Babel event, and the reverse of nationalism is what the antichrist will do. Being against nationalism is basically opposing God Himself, and being pro-globalism is to basically be an antichrist.

The nice thing about Baptists, especially Southern Baptists, is that they can make up their own minds about what the Bible teaches.

A church can disfellowship a member, or a member can find another church. Heck, Jiimmy Carter went and founded his own denomination.

Altough doctrine is pretty conservative, overall

"To back Mr. Trump, these voters must repudiate everything they believe," Moore said.

There were...pastors and friends who told me when they read my comments they thought I was criticizing anyone who voted for Donald Trump.

Uh, Russell, I don't see how you can characterize your statement as anything other than a criticism of anyone who voted for Donald Trump. Stop with the mealy-mouthed "I really didn't mean what I said" BS. Just own up to it and apologize.

If you don’t really apologize, then I don’t have to forgive.

Repent and let me forgive you. God doesn’t even forgive without repentance.

..Moore stepped in it and the SBC knows it. Many Southern Baptists like myself switched our support to DJT when we really LOOKED at what Mr Trump stood for. Life, religious liberty—it was a no brainer...

Wiki: "...In the early 1990s, prior to entering the ministry, Moore was an aide to U.S. Representative Gene Taylor of Mississippi, a Democrat..." Yep, he worked for that two-faced, lying scum Gene (from New Orleans) Taylor who voted for and supported Nasty Pelosi as Speaker.

Russell Moore is a lefty rat who supported the party of abortion and anti-American activity for decades. He's a mole within the SBC who promotes the leftist agenda.

Unfortunately, my young and naive pastor follows his council too closely.

Stick to the gospel, Russ. The Great Commission doesn’t include dragging the church into the political fray of this world.
