Official: FBI Now Backs CIA Conclusion on Russian Hacking Motive

The FBI is supporting the CIA's conclusion that Russia interfered in the presidential election with the goal of supporting Republican candidate Donald Trump.

In a message sent to employees, CIA Director John Brennan said he had spoken with FBI Director James Comey and James Clapper, the director of national intelligence.

Brennan said in the message that "there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election."

A U.S. official who had seen the unclassified message from Brennan confirmed it to The Associated Press on Friday.

President Barack Obama is promising that the U.S. will retaliate against Russia for its suspected meddling in America's election process, an accusation the Kremlin has vehemently denied.

I disagree with that. Two particularly damaging things came out of the Wikileaks dumps:

1. The transcripts from some of Hillary Clinton's speeches, where she said she envisioned a Western Hemisphere with open borders and a unified economy.

2. Her statement about holding "public" and "private" positions on issues where the voters wouldn't support the positions she took on behalf of her donors.

Beyond that, I'd say the general tone of all those thousands of e-mails was probably very damaging to Clinton's campaign. The people involved in her campaign spent years working to get her elected, but never once gave any indication that they gave a sh!t about what was best for the American people.

Maybe, just maybe they aren’t kissing anyone’s butts but have REALLY found evidence of Russia’s attempts to hack.

The question is this — let’s say this is true. Did they hacking really change the results of the elections?

Unless they can show that the voting machines ( which are NOT networked and not connected to the internet or any LAN or WAN but STANDALONE machines ) are tampered with, the results are what they are.

If all they’re showing is Russia successfully hacked into the DNC to reveal the hidden agenda of the Democrats, hey, what’s to be surprised about?
