DALLAS - The Republican elector who has gotten national attention for refusing to vote for Donald Trump at the Electoral College on Dec. 19 was apparently not a first responder on September 11, 2001 as he has stated for years and has a questionable career history, according to an investigation by WFAA.

So the local news in Dallas has better investigative journalist skills than the NY times who allowed this fraud to write some big piece in their paper? Damn they never learn their lesson. So hell bent on partisanship they did not do their homework before making this con artist their poster boy.
In Texas they are nominated by the congressional district caucuses at the Texas Republican Convention. They must have a majority vote to win. If after the first round there is no winner, there is a runoff between the top 2 candidates. The state party picks the 2 at large electors representing the senate seats. The Texas Repubublican Party is a grass roots organization. He must have gained the trust of local Republican groups.

He would have had to be active for many years. You don’t just get chosen to be an elector the first time you go to a convention.
That really is a despicable photo. A reminder of an evil past. I wonder, of those men standing there, who died unrepentant, are proud now, of what they did, as they are tormented for eternity. What an evil act, and how evil it is to hold it up, even in jest, as a solution.
He has a website and “foundation” for “Never Forget 9/11” — time to investigate whether he has been raising funds under false pretences and what has he been doing with the money???

The other electors can replace him next Monday when they meet in Austin.
It’s my understanding that electors are usually diehard party members, such as Bill Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi’s daughter.
Maybe he’d been getting away with it for so long that he stopped thinking about how he could get caught....
He appears to be a total fraud, yet he thrust himself into national spotlight with this elector stuff.... he must not have been thinking about how easily he could be exposed.
Many NeverTrumpers are insiders. But even they won’t vote against the party.
NYT hasn’t any scruples anymore. Partisanship is more important than truth to them.
