I’ve already responded to this story in another post. It looks like this is going to be the defining issue with this man, who was an Eagle Scout himself.

I have moved on. But people need to know what they’re getting in their government.
As long as he does not force the same issue on Boy Scouts in other countries, I won’t make it an issue.

I haven’t researched Tillerson but will ask a question based on your facts in the article....so you are saying the Boy Scouts are not open to all boys?
Exactly how many boys even think they are gay at 10-12 years of age.
Your article did not specify that Tillerson was for gay Scoutmasters which was the real furor on the whole subject.
The comments you pulled out could be out of context, or not. Let’s see what he says in the Senate confirmation hearings.
Obviously a troll article intended to sow division in the Trump ranks. And very successful it has been.

I find it hard to believe that the CEO of ExxonMobil would give a rat’s ass about gays in the boys scouts.

Since he still sits on the board, and the BSA now accepts openly gay scout masters, and I don’t see any objections from Tillerson, who still sits on the national executive board, I have to conclude that he is for gay Scoutmasters.

Why is that hard to believe? He was the President of the Boy Scouts of America. That position obviously tells us that he cares about the organization.

You can pretty much ignore the Democrats, the nevertrumpers are like a fifth column, sowing doubt and dissention. I’m very tired of reading their garbage.
This is an organization that is likely facing its demise.

Tillerson was president until 2012. The change happened in 2013. And a newspaper in Dallas ran a story in 2014.

I don’t get this. All my sources are that Robert Gates was the man most responsible for the “gaying” of the Boy Scouts.

You should not equate expressions of concern with SOME of Trump’s nominees with knee jerk opposition to Trump himself.
Obviously there are #NeverTrumpers out there and that is unhealthy. However, we should not succumb to the other extreme — knee jerk support for EVERYTHING Trump does. He is just a fallible human being after all and we should be VIGILANT even as we support him.
Trump has made many good picks for his cabinet so far, but there are some picks whose backgrounds need to be vetted by those who claim to be conservatives.
If you support the acceptance of gays to the Boy Scouts ( up to an including scout leaders like Tillerson does ), just say so.
