This week's Mainstream Media Scream features one of many media efforts to question the legitimacy of President-elect Trump's victory by highlighting concerns that the Russians influenced the election on his behalf.
On CBS Face the Nation, for example, Slate's chief political correspondent, Jamelle Bouie, raised the specter that the "election was In some sense illegitimate."
Host John Dickerson: Jamelle, as Michael [Duffy of Time magazine] points out, that the distinction here on the CIA and what they seem to have found, what's new here. We heard about Russian involvement potentially while the election was going on, but what seems to be new is that it was targeted to help Donald Trump. That seems to be the new development – that in order to just update people on where things are.
Slate's Jamelle Bouie: Right, exactly. We've sort of had to acknowledge and suspicion that the Russian government has been involved in, you know, helping leak documents like and engaging in election interference that way, but that's different. That's materially different than the suggestion that, hey, they were doing this specifically to help Donald Trump.
I'm sort of in this place right now where I'm not entirely sure, beyond investigations, beyond sort of serious scrutiny of this, what we do about this, because it really is unprecedented. And if — if it is true, if we have further verification of this, then what it suggests potentially is that the election was in some sense illegitimate. And I don't know where you go from there.

NONE of these idiots are claiming that Russia directly hacked into voting machines.
These are all claims that hackers affiliated with Russia got into Podesta’s email and leaked embarrassing details which turned-up on WikiLeaks.
To which I would respond:
1) Did the Russians put a gun to Podesta’s head and force him to write all that stuff over the course of several years?
2) His email password was reportedly “P@ssword”. It does not take a top-level KGB hacker to bust into THAT.
This time it will be different, because Trump will push back as hard as he receives.

WikiLeaks had tens of thousands of John Podesta's emails. They expose a corrupt press, Clintons' Foundation "charity" play for play, Clinton lucrative cronyism, DNC nastiness, the Clintons’ real thoughts on issues. The Daily Caller believes are the most important findings (nothing that says "Russia calling").

Delegitimize or delegitimate?
They are hoping to give the Electoral College some cover to change their votes. They want to say that Trump is too dangerous to be president. They are saying because of threats to global warming, Russia election influence, The Supreme Court, One China policy, Comey’s letters to congress, and extreme cabinet picks, Trump is too extreme and the Russians rigged the election so the only right thing to do is to change their vote.
Thats their hope. ANd if they were in a household that watched MSNBC or CNN they some may be swayed. But they are overwhelmingly in households that watch Fox. So I don’t think they will buy it.
Every presidential election there are 2 or 3 Electoral College voters will change their vote. But they need 37 to do it.
Many people who did not vote for him have been impressed and it's only just beginning. All the media predictions about him have been proven wrong and so Trump comes into the presidency with low expectations that he will easily outperform.
That will be their solemn mission until 2020.

They hide so much it’s ridiculous. It’s called selective reporting. On the positive side, they are becoming irrelevant in shaping opinion. The only value they will have is reporting news events, such as weather, disasters and events. Otherwise, people are getting truth from online sources.
