Iran Seals Deal With Boeing to Buy 80 Planes Worth $16.6B

Iran's flag carrier finalized a major deal with U.S. plane maker Boeing Co. to buy $16.6 billion worth of passenger planes Sunday in one of the most tangible benefits yet for the Islamic Republic from last year's landmark nuclear agreement.

Iran Air's deal for 80 jetliners is the biggest agreement Iran has struck with an American company since the 1979 revolution and U.S. Embassy takeover. It has the potential to transform Iran's creaking and accident-prone aviation industry, which has been hobbled by years of sanctions.

Those curbs have prevented the country from buying new planes from Chicago-based Boeing and European rival Airbus, and in many cases made it difficult for Iranian airlines to secure much-needed spare parts.

How about no.

They’ve violated the treaty 20 times already.

Sanctions back on, deal off. Tough ### Boeing.

No, what's really interesting is that the Obama Administration was insistent that the United States owed Iran $1.7 billion in some out of court settlement, but that because there were no banking relationships between the U.S. and Iran, Obama had to send pallets of Euros and Swiss Francs to Tehran.

So now how is Iran going to pay Boeing for these aircraft? Pallets of Iranian Rials?

Obama trying to push through his nuclear agreement agenda before Trump gets in and cancels it.

All for his stinking legacy.

“Iranian Transport Minister Abbas Akhoundi, who attended the signing ceremony, said it was a “historic” day for Iranian aviation and that the deal would create 8,000 jobs for Iranians.”

8000 jobs for Iranians, but not mention at all if building 80 Boeing jetliners would even create one job for Americans.

“Sanctions back on, deal off. Tough ### Boeing.”

This is actually a very clever move on the Iranian’s part. Boeing has a substantial lobby that will be shifted to work against any of Trump’s anti-Iran efforts. The Iranians may never spend a penny on the planes as a new plane won’t be delivered for several years. So, it costs them nothing and may serve to help stymie anything Trump wants to do involving Congress.

80 Planes Worth $16.6B

That's only $200 million per plane..........And our govt. is willing to pay $4 billion for two?

Sounds like Iran read Trump's "Art of the Deal" or maybe even attended Trump University........LOL!

Obama trying to push through his nuclear agreement agenda before Trump gets in and cancels it.

I'll wager that Israel will have no option but to nuke Iran -in several locations within the next two years! Sooner the better!

“Who do you think is going to build the 80 jets? Butterflies?”

For some reason, the article does not mention how many jobs would be created in America by producing all the components for and building the 80 Boeing jetliners.

The Iranians are ensuring that sanctions will never be re-instituted. They have struck similar kinds of big deals with Rurope, Russia, and China.

When Trump pulls out of the Iran deal then it’ll be an additional 80 planes bought from Airbus.

So what? Does every article about something being sold have to then reference how many jobs are created as a result? Maybe none are created. But maybe a lot are kept

The number of jobs created for Americans by building 80 jetliners and 160 jet engines needs to be known. Maybe it’s no jobs, maybe it is a few jobs, maybe its a couple thousand jobs or perhaps it’s tens of thousands of jobs.

‘How many of the planes will be used to deliver the nuclear bombs to our cities’

Exactly on point.
A bomber is a civilian plane with different paint minor changes.
80 state of the art bombers will level Israel.
