Russia Hacked Republican Committee, U.S. Concludes (Democratic whining continues)

WASHINGTON — American intelligence agencies have concluded with “high confidence” that Russia acted covertly in the latter stages of the presidential campaign to harm Hillary Clinton’s chances and promote Donald J. Trump, according to senior administration officials.

They based that conclusion, in part, on another finding — which they say was also reached with high confidence — that the Russians hacked the Republican National Committee’s computer systems in addition to their attacks on Democratic organizations, but did not release whatever information they gleaned from the Republican networks.

In the months before the election, it was largely documents from Democratic Party systems that were leaked to the public. Intelligence agencies have concluded that the Russians gave the Democrats’ documents to WikiLeaks.

Republicans have a different explanation for why no documents from their networks were ever released. Over the past several months, officials from the Republican committee have consistently said that their networks were not compromised, asserting that only the accounts of individual Republicans were attacked. On Friday, a senior committee official said he had no comment.

Mr. Trump’s transition office issued a statement Friday evening reflecting the deep divisions that emerged between his campaign and the intelligence agencies over Russian meddling in the election. “These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction,” the statement said. “The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It’s now time to move on and ‘Make America Great Again.’”

One senior government official, who had been briefed on an F.B.I. investigation into the matter, said that while there were attempts to penetrate the Republican committee’s systems, they were not successful.

I won’t feel safe until Trump takes the oath...and even after that I will worry for his safety.

This was the BIG ONE!

This election was for all the marbles....Marxist America or a return to the constitutional republic.

Trillions of dollars are at stake.

Nothing would surprise me at this point...they are terrified Trump will get to create a constitution-loving supreme court that will endure for many decades.

What have they got to lose at this point?

After Scalia, I think the scotus needs secret service protection.

“They are trying to establish the STOLEN ELECTION!!: meme that worked so well against Bush, and delegitimize the Trump presidency.”

I agree but that is the minimum intended outcome. It is also the meme to legitimize stealing an election.

"Still no mention of content. No denials, no affirmation."

If the leaks were fraudulent, seems like it should be able to prove they're fakes if the originals were not destroyed.

"I won’t feel safe until Trump takes the oath"

It would be interesting to have obama administer the Oath of Office just to find out if he's learned it yet.

What emails are they talking about? I never seen anything in the state controlled national “media” about any of Clintoonie and the Democrats’ hacked emails. Never.

“High confidence” means nothing. It is a subjective measure that they are using it substitute for evidence.

I question how effective these efforts to “discredit” or “undermine” Trump are. They used the same tactics with Bush and he was reelected. Trump”s own election indicates that people aren’t falling for this liberal propaganda.

"also reached with high confidence — that the Russians hacked the Republican National Committee’s computer systems"

So, how could these "American intelligence agencies" reach these conclusions, without they, themselves, hacking the Republican National Committee’s computer systems? This would be highly illegal unless done at the request of the RNC.
