I bet if mommy and daddy would kick them out of the basement, take away their credit card, quit paying for their phones, quit making their car payments, quit putting gas in vehicle that 9 bucks an hour would look pretty good real quick.
Not societies fault, mommies and daddies need to pull the tit out of these babies mouths and kick their a$$es to the curb.
They are part of the entitlement generation where they think they are entitled to what they WANT and not what they have to EARN.
This is why this country will never recover. These families are raising a bunch of spoiled brats and need to kick some butt /rant off
Mommy and Daddy are struggling to pay their own bills. There is precious little left for Johnny in the basement and Suzie in her bedroom.
“...entitlement generation...”
So true that it was the helicopter parents starting in the the 80’s who formed this generation and wrought this upon us!! We have a 19 year daughter who is a hard worker (Hollister) and who was taught that the “I wants” (rewarding bad supermarket wanting everything type behavior starting around 3 years of age) doesn’t work in our family!! She attends college and works during breaks at this point.
Many of her friends are “entitled” and have older siblings who are back home from college and live somewhere in the family home. Our other twenty somethings are: an emergency room nurse, a lawyer, and a model with a BFA in NYC who works a “day job” hostessing at a top NYC restaurant who would not have even considered moving home.
I am not trying to brag - just agreeing and giving a concrete example that the entitlement generation is real and they were NEVER told no as young children and continuing on through and now they can’t deal with the real world.
The play groups of the late 80’s were unattendable - the parents actually thought it was cool to NEVER correct very bad behavior! This can be done calmly and not harshly but they were clueless as parents and this is the generation raised.
