“Foot ball prevents real war”.
So I guess soccer causes war?
Football just creates a pool of players to feed the NFL gladiator complex.
My team of blacks can beat your team of blacks, and look, I have a t shirt.
Ridiculous idol worship.
But you go right ahead, and watch “foot ball”, I’ll pass.

The media is poo-pooing this guy. But a look closer, he is a lawyer and:

“Andrew F. Puzder was named president and chief executive officer of CKE Restaurants, Inc. in September 2000.
Puzder joined the Company in 1997 as executive vice president, general counsel, overseeing franchising at Carl’s Jr. and in 1998, began overseeing franchising at Hardee’s as well. In June 2000, he was appointed president and chief executive officer of Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc. before moving on to his current position as president and CEO of the parent company.

Prior to joining CKE Restaurants, Inc., Puzder served as executive vice president, general counsel for Fidelity National Financial, Inc. and chief executive officer of Santa Barbara Restaurant Group, Inc. He was formerly a partner with the law firm Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth. Puzder received his juris doctorate in 1978 from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and is a member of the California, Nevada and Missouri Bar Associations.

Most recently, PR News and CommCore Consulting named Puzder 2005 Spokesperson of the Year for his work in representing the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s brands in television and radio”.

Just read a Hardee’s menu. You’re right. They got rid of chicken. They only have childen tenders now. Be willing to bet that was Carl’s Jr. idea. Stupid move. Most Hardee’s are in the South and most Southerners would rather eat fried chicken that a hamburger. They need to bring back chicken,
cole slaw and beans!

If Andy Puzder is anything like Trump’s new EPA head, I’m going to be a cheerleader!

You should try Ruby Tuesdays burger. Angus, thick, great flavor, and they will cook it medium rare for you. I think they are way better than the boutique burger places like burger fi and Red Robin, and definitely superior to Texas Roadhouse (you’d think they would have a great burger, but no, IMHO).

“Yep. You must have seen my post 16. :-)”

I hadn’t,sorry.

I’ve misunderstood so many things here over the years that I just assumed that’s what you did.

If his employees are non-union, the DOL people will howl. For many years the AFL-CIO has provided its people to staff the DOL, and it is run by career employees who are in the union’s pocket.

I like it. All of it.

Liberals think they are the smartest people in any room, including rooms full of other liberals.

You know what his picks for various posts tells me? He is going to be a working President, not a effing golfing President, because he is taking his job seriously.

Come on...Mattis for SecDef? John Kelly for DHS? Wilbur Ross for Commerce? Michael Flynn NSA?

Trump means business.

I will say, I don’t like Nikki Haley or Elaine Chao, but I suppose appointing Nikki Haley to the UN post gets her out of South Carolina, which many conservatives will probably be happy about. And how much damage can she do at the UN? Elaine Chao, well...anything that throws a bone to Mitch McConnell fills me with dread. I think that is a snake that is going to come back and bite him in some way.

Following her service in the government, Chao worked for four years as President and CEO of United Way of America. She is credited with returning credibility and public trust in the organization after a financial mismanagement scandal involving former president William Aramony. From 1996 until her appointment as Secretary of Labor, Chao was a Distinguished Fellow with the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C. She was also a board member of the Independent Women's Forum.[17] She returned to the Heritage Foundation after leaving the government in January 2009. -----Snip----

She also restructured departmental programs and modernized regulations.[21] -----Snip----

In 2002, a major West Coast ports dispute costing the U.S. economy nearly $1 billion daily was resolved when the Bush administration obtained a national emergency injunction against both the employers and the union under the Taft–Hartley Act for the first time since 1971.[22] In 2003, for the first time in more than 40 years, the Department updated the labor union financial disclosure regulations under the Landrum–Griffin Act of 1959 to provide union members with more information on union finances. In 2004, the Department issued revisions of the white-collar overtime regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.[23] ---Snip------- In 2009 Chao resumed her previous role as a Distinguished Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, and she contributes to Fox News and other media outlets.

I work in Logistics. My job will be directly impacted by Chao.I not worried about Chao at DOT at all.

Well, having read your posts over the years, I admit to feeling less queasy about her, having a more trustworthy source of info. Thanks.

I think I am so anti-McConnell after reading about his verbal mash notes to Biden the other day. That turned my stomach.
