Donald Trump Picks GOP Oil Industry Ally, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, to Lead EPA
NBC News ^ | Dec 7 2016, 3:34 pm ET | Emma Margolin

Donald Trump intends to select Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, a senior transition official confirmed to NBC News Wednesday — the clearest sign yet the president-elect will pursue an agenda that could undue President Obama's climate change legacy.

An ally to the fossil fuel industry, Pruitt has aggressively fought against environmental regulations, becoming one of a number of attorneys general to craft a 28-state lawsuit against the Obama administration's rules to curb carbon emissions. The case is currently awaiting a decision from the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, which heard oral arguments in September.

Pruitt, who questions the impact of climate change, along with Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange, penned an op-ed in the Tulsa World earlier this year that called criticism they've received "un-American."

"Healthy debate is the lifeblood of American democracy, and global warming has inspired one of the major policy debates of our time," states the op-ed. "That debate is far from settled. Scientists continue to disagree about the degree and extent of global warming and its connection to the actions of mankind… Dissent is not a crime."

We can but hope that this is the guy Trump’s sending in to scuttle the regs, close out all the files, RIF out all the bureaucrats, shutter the agency, and bring out the flag for the last time.

The existence of the accursed EPA is probably the ONLY legitimate reason on Earth to truly despise Richard M. Nixon. Nixon created the EPA by executive order in 1970 as a sop to the anti-Vietanm war left — not because he thought an EPA was needed. We now, in retrospect, can rightly despise his idiotic move both for the bogus reason he made it, and for the damnable results it has had.

EPA? YOU’RE FIRED!

A few conservatives (ah... mark levin) were losing their minds when Trump spoke with Al Gore.

Sheesh. Zero faith. The man can’t even have a conversation without the Never Trumpers screaming, “I told you so!!”

When you have to kill a man, it costs nothing to be polite.

Winston Churchill

It would appear Mr Gore was rather mistaken in his assessment of how his meeting with Mr Trump went.

I am beginning to believe Trump is far far far smart then any of his foes. I think we are going to be surprised at the depths beneath his public persona.

I, for one, can see I vastly underestimated him. I totally believed the public persona WAS Trump. He is showing to be much more than that.

Only time will tell but I think Trump may have that rare trait other great Presidents have had. The ability to tell someone to go to hell with a smile and a pat on the back.

I didn’t even know that “routineer” was a word, much less one used so often in Hawaii that the state’s residents asked Google for its spelling more than for any other word.

I never have looked up a spelling in Google—that’s what dictionaries, whether on-line or in book form, are for—but seeing how Google apparently tells people that the past tense of “cancel” is spelled “cancelled” (spelled in the Limey fashion, as opposed to the American “canceled”) has disabused me of the notion of ever using that “lazy man’s dictionary.” (I often chastise younger attorneys at our firm when they cancel mortgage notes by writing “CANCELLED” instead of “CANCELED” over them, asking them if they similarly write “travelling.”)

NUKE THE UTTERLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL EPA

The Constitution gives the feds no such authority. Environmental issues are states' issues and if there is a controversy between states then the Supreme Court is authorized to rule on the issue

This is after Trump started acting conciliatory towards Algore.

Trump is baiting and trolling them again.

But who watches the “MSM” anymore?
The MSM though will try to rev up the leftists.
I think Trump will need to cut off NPR.
