Freed Pastor Saeed Abedini Says Donald Trump Helped His Family While He Suffered in Iranian Jail

ranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini is brimming with gratitude for one U.S. presidential aspirant: Donald Trump.

In a surprising revelation, Abedini said the Republican presidential nominee helped provide for the needs of his family in Boise, Idaho while he was locked up in an Iranian prison for his faith. The pastor said Trump gave his family $10,000 while he was imprisoned for three and a half years.

"I am finally free in a free country. Last year on the same day I was sick and in chains for Christ, and now I can vote to choose my next president," Abedini said in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday.

"And most amazingly, I can vote for someone that I know fought for me and called my name so many times. He met my family and gave them a $10,000 gift. I think his ideas are more biblical than the other candidates," he added.

In contrast, Abedini said Democratic presidential nominee HILLARY CLINTON DID NOT DO OR SAY ANYTHING TO HELP SECURE HIS RELEASE FROM IRANIAN PRISON. The pastor said Clinton never spoke his name or met his family. Advertisement

"As a woman who says she stands for women's rights when she was foreign minister, she never contacted my mom, wife, sister or my daughter. She never did anything to help when I was in prison as an American pastor who was detained in Iran as a hostage," he wrote.

Abedini strongly defended Trump from attacks on his character, saying God used flawed men to lead nations in the Old Testament, likening him to King Cyrus of Persia, a figure mentioned more than 30 times in the Bible. According to Bible experts, Cyrus was a great pagan king who ruled Persia from 539 to 530 B.C. Under his rule, Jews were first allowed to return to Israel after 70 years of captivity.

"In the past few months, we have seen how media is attacking Donald Trump's past. I have even heard so many people said he is not a Christian. Of course, only God knows this for sure, but what I see is God is using him and anointed him. It seems to me that he is the Cyrus of our modern day, but like you and me, he is a flawed man, in the process of spiritual growth," Abedini said.

The pastor pointed out that those who are condemning Trump for his past are forgetting that America is also a nation "saved by grace."

"When we hear that this candidate or that candidate is not a strong Christian or has a past that disqualifies him to be the President of the United States, my answer is that we are a nation, a people who are also sinners, saved by grace," he wrote.

Last week, Abedini said he already cast an early vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Wow!!!

Was this known before the election?

What else has Trump been doing - because it’s the right thing to do! - and not for publicity or optics or propaganda.

I am SO IMPRESSED!

Yes, it was known... Trump mentioned this man at one or some of his rallies.

Hillary did nothing to help this pastor or his family. I could be wrong, but as far as I know Obama or Kerry didn’t help either.

Yes, but not sure if it was his parents or his wife/children. Either case while I applaud Trump for helping, Saeed is not someone to be held up as a hero. He is an abusive adulterer who has harmed his son and filed for divorce after his wife wanted him to get counseling for the abuse and repent of the adultery. Saeed is a lying self-righteous scumbag

PM me if you want to know how I know all this.

Hillary did nothing to help this pastor or his family....

As far as I know, Hillary did nothing to help anyone other than herself or her own family. When people would tell me Trump was a narcissist, I could give them several examples of his helping people in need and asked them to give me examples of Hillary doing so. None could. I tried searching online to find a personal act of charity by Hillary and couldn't.

Trump seems to have real feelings and empathy for others. When he was leaving a rally and mothers of children murdered by illegals got his attention, it brought me to tears when he stopped and talked to them and then tenderly kissed each of the murdered victims photos.

And what will the leftists say? “He’s a billionaire, why didn’t he give more?”

He has helped so many people and never sought the limelight for it. That is the mark of a good person, someone who isn’t concerned with who gets the praise, only who get the needed help.

Do you remember years ago she was campaigning for Bill and made a speech in NYC? As she walked out the back door with her entourage, a homeless guy came up (with flashbulbs going off and news mikes stuck everywhere), and asked for help to get something to eat. She turned to one of her lackeys and said (paraphrasing) “Give the poor man a voter registration form”. Lot’s of empathy there.

With the behavior that you cite, it’s hard to believe that he is a Christian pastor.

As you state, Trump helped the family during his captivity. That is pretty much the only avenue for private citizens.

Obama and his diplomats apparently did nothing.

Another thing to admire about DJT is that he never seems to boast or talk about his personal charities to others. This is in Biblical principles as those who show off their good works have their shallow reward. Mr Trump is rewarded from God for not showing off in this manner of his giving.

He’s not anymore. He was dismissed from his church right after this came out in court. He now claims to not be under anyone’s authority and is starting his own ‘ministry’.

No acts of charity at all by Bill & Hillary? Well they did donate Bills used underwear to charity. Of course they wrote it off their taxes.
