The rhetoric on immigration during the presidential campaign season has struck fear into the hearts of many foreign-born families, and a new network of Minnesota churches is mobilizing to respond.
The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on St. Pauls Dale Street already maintains 22 shelter beds for the homeless in its basement, where families with no other place to go often spend the night on a temporary basis. The Rev. James Erlandson said those beds may soon serve a different purpose: offering sanctuary to those facing deportation.
Thats a moral stand that weve taken, Erlandson said. We want to say: Dont increase deportations. Lets fix our immigration system, and offer a path to citizenship so our neighbors dont live in fear.

What is wrong with these morons...they certainly are not American patriots..............
Tax these churches into oblivion.
They should consult the Mexican cartels. They probably have safe houses set up for drug smugglers.
You know what?
I think an underground railroad to Trudeau’s Canada makes perfect sense.
Just like conservative churches were attacked by liberals.
“I suggest an Underground Trebuchet.”
Humor JRandomFreeper would appreciate! God rest his soul.
I blame, in chronological order, Ted Kennedy, Reagan, Geo W Bush & Obama for the mess we are in. Each of them helped to flood the nation with Third Worlders. I go out, and there are scowling foreigners everywhere, and I live in a suburb of a dying rust belt city.
Actually, I'd bet there's an ever better way: Trump's Justice Department ought to find a way to make these charities financially liable for any crimes or mayhem committed by those they helped shelter from deportation.
You wanna see these bleating wannabees shut up *real* quick? That'd do it.

However, there is fear in the hearts of some if not many Minneapolis residents

A snake is still a snake, no matter how well you treat them. All it takes is for one Muslim to realize that he is surrounded by infidels, and take to heart Mohammed’s command to kill the infidels.
The original Underground Railroad didn’t have to worry about this. The people they were protecting didn’t follow a creed that demanded they hate the ones helping them.
The original Underground Railroad protected Blacks from those who wanted to enslave them.
The new Minnesota Underground Railroad wants to protect those who have broken our laws and want to impose Sharia Law on those who help them, and demand these same protectors to convert, die, or be enslaved.
Same thing they're doing in Sweden. It's not working too well there.
I understand what these so-called churches are trying to do, but they are breaking the law. This is in defiance of Gods law.
If they took it case by case, and we’re trying to help illegals become legal, provided lawyers and shelter-took on sole responsibility for illegals upkeep, I can see it.
But, this is not what they are doing.
And speaking of fear, here is some more Somalies in action in Minneapolis...Perhaps these churches should spend more time sharing the gospel rather than enabling their illegal activities.

Remove their tax-free status. They will react in a hurry to that. By politicizing themselves...they don’t fit the profile required by IRS.
So this Lutheran Church supports criminal behavior and the stealing of social resources from those legally qualified to receive it to those illegally here that demand it.
Hmmm Sounds more like a criminal enterprise to me.
Who the hell advertises an underground railroad.
If they want to pull this ‘sanctuary from the law’ B.S., then let’s follow it to the letter shall we...
“Church sanctuaries were regulated by common law. An asylum seeker was to confess sins, surrender weapons, and be placed under the supervision of the head of the church or abbey where they had fled. They then had forty days to make one of two choices: surrender to secular authorities and stand trial for the alleged crimes, or confess their guilt and be sent into exile (abjure the realm), by the shortest route and never return without the king’s permission. Anyone who did come back could be executed by the law and/or excommunicated by the Church.
If the suspect chose to confess their guilt and abjure, they would do so in a public ceremony, usually at the gate of the church grounds. They would surrender their possessions to the church, and any landed property to the crown.”

Twisted egomaniacs found another cause.
I hope under the Trump administration these churches lose their tax exempt status.
