In other words, insurers want the US taxpayer to cover their losses and ensure they have a no risk profit margin

Smith & Wesson took one in the shorts for cooperating with the Clintons.
Big Insurance was in on the ACA racket. Now the wind is blowing in the other direction. Time for them to receive some thanks for nothing.

Even the insurance companies can’t fathom operating without government involvement.
Sad state of affairs.
Reminds me of that line from The Ten Commandments (I think): “How can we make bricks without straw?”
Except, in that case, you really couldn’t make bricks without straw.

Health insurers list demands if Obamacare is repealed...
China demands that Trump don’t talk to Taiwan...
Iran demands that we honor Obama’s EO treaty...
Lots of people making demands. I suspect Trump just doesn’t care.

“They also want to keep in place rules that encourage young and healthy people to . . .”
1. The most objectionable part of Obamacare is mandating that we purchase a product against our will; that mandate has to be destroyed.
2. Obamacare does not work without the mandate for healthy young people to buy insurance they don’t want - such a terrible product that most young people would rather pay the fine than follow the mandate.
Given (1) and (2), Obamacare has to die. The whole thing must go, except perhaps allowing snowflakes to stay on their parents’ insurance to age 26.

They also want to keep in place rules that encourage young and healthy people to sign up,LOL! They want what Obama originally promised with Obama Care and made them believe they were on the gravy train. Competition will be a rude wake up call for the ones making noise...
