Government has to take responsibility for their share of cost over runs. You can’t stay on budget when every time new military personal is rotated through the defense dept they practically start from scratch and want numerous upgrades or revisions to previous designs.

We basically have three defense primary contractors in the US: Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman. It is pretty close to a monopoly.

Probably true, but he is sending a message to purchasing agents and suppliers that he is going to be guarding the taxpayers money like he does his own. That will be worth more than a few billion dollars.
I am sure you’re right about Trump negotiating. And Boeing would be insane not to go along with the optics—even though it bodes ill for the rest of their bloated contracts.
There is no airplane in the entire world worth “four billion” dollars. Do you folks know the lunacy high cost of flying the POTUS B747 from Washington, DC to Cincinatti, Ohio, etc. The cost is massively over the top for a short operations run. If Obama was concerned about efficiency, safety, and good fuel consumption, he would have ordered one or two B737NG BBJ aircraft to handle short POTUS flight activity!!! Bottom line: the money the Obamas have spent, flying around on the POTUS B747 is totally wasted, thrown away money for no good purpose!!!
We could have rebuilt the city of Baltimore given the money this hate America Obama & his low life Democrats spent in waste!!! DJT...cancel that B747 order...and, purchase a “Boeing” B787-9, a much more efficient, effectuve, useful and practical, advanced aircraft as the “NEW” POTUS aircraft!!! Do it!!!

Negotiation is fun if both parties know the rules of negotiation.
New helicopters were to be built also but I guess that got shot down due to costs. They were to be built and upgraded after 9/11 for today’s security concerns...so this is what’s happening with helicopters now.
