I am not familiar with the book. Yes, we in SF call ourselves the Quiet Pros. I recall the original SF guys I served with in 67-70 the most as we had WWII types who came to us under the Lodge Act. Fins like Col. Pavo Kiernam, and the Keravouri’s father and son) are men I looked up to. Larry Thorne was KIA before I got in SF. We had Czech’s, and a Polish type or two. We had men who were OSS in WWII plus a lot of senior NCO’s were 187th RCT in Korea. The Lodge Act types were old 10th Group (Bad Tolz,Germany types. I was glad to learn from them.
I worked with a few guys who were SF, LRRP, SEALs in Vietnam. They were all decent guys. They usually had some stories to tell, too.
