Rape has increased in the Armed Forces and whats drove it up is homosexual rape. A man should not have to worry about getting raped by another man. All presidents since Washington to GW Bush understood that. Homosexual activity was never conducive to good military order and discipline. Mattis knows this. Hes not a wimp like Ashley Carter.
I completely agree, but look at what has happened since DADT was repealed — a large portion, perhaps even a majority, of society has fully accepted homosexuality as the norm, with the SCOTUS backing them up. I just don’t see that horse going back into the barn any time soon.
