Nevada election officials will recount ballots in five counties after independent presidential candidate Roque De La Fuente requested and paid about $14,000 for the effort.
De La Fuente finished last in the state but this week requested a recount in Nevada, a state Democrat Hillary Clinton won. De La Fuente says he wants to counterbalance a recount Green Party candidate Jill Stein requested in Wisconsin, which President-elect Donald Trump won. Stein also has requested recounts in Trump-won states of Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Nevada Deputy Secretary of State for Elections Wayne Thorley said Wednesday that state law requires the five counties Carson City, Douglas, Mineral, Nye and Clark to begin the recount within five days and to complete it within five additional days.
Thorley says if recount results show a discrepancy of at least 1 percent for De La Fuente or Clinton, a full state recount will be launched.

That is what the gop should be funding.
Trust me. Cat mantos will be hairy screeds sock puppet and probably won’t make a move without a consultation with hairy. She beat Joe Heck by around 26,000 votes statewide. Weird because that’s approx the same number that hildabeast beat Trump. But, by around 80,000 in Clark county. The only county she won.
Easier for them to do that in 2008 because they could get the names from all the abandoned foreclosed homes.
Slightly different story with this election.
this may work well for Trump if he narrows down Hitlery’s win in Nevada. There is more than 26000 Illegals there too. It would be nice if they would also check voter registration.
I think the first time they see just how the Clintons operated their voter fraud, all this crap of recounts are going to stop like in going though the windshield kind of stop!!!
Bernie, I don’t like him, won California hands down and she stole it along with a lot of other States...he was having the big rallies like Trump...not as big but they were up there...could this be what this green idiot is doing, wondering why the Bernie voters didn’t come to her like she thought they would and is she wondering if Clinton stole them also??? I’m not worried about Trump, he won fair and square and a lot of Bernie voters went to him also...
If they do, it could turn NV into a Trump win.
26,000? Hell, there are at least 200,000 illegals here. Don’t have any idea how many voted - no motor voter here and ID is required to vote. There are probably some, but mostly Reed got the Casino workers - SEIU - out in a major way (you could see them in T-shirts all over town on the last weekend of early voting). I suspect that the turnout push by the unions (Reed) was what threw the state to Hillary, that and a slightly lower Trump vote than expected in the rest of the state.
It would be fun to see how many Hispanic votes came from the same address, and absentee ballots with the same handwriting...
I doubt it...it’s not loose like in California (registration and ID requirements). Vegas has a tremendous minority population, lots of Mexicans, yes, and lots of illegals but it would be much more difficult for them to get registered and vote here than in California.
We have a tremendous population of Hispanics and a large, and quickly growing Asian and Pacific Islander population. Most of them are legal and the Asians especially become citizens as quickly as they can. The two cohorts represent more than 40% of the population of Clark County - and both the Hispanics and Asians vote heavily Democrat...probably upwards of 90% for both cohorts. The Asian and Pacific population is as rabidly Democrat as the Hispanic...even though they are much more prevalent as business owners.
Local government is almost solely Democrat in Clark County...it’s going to take a successful Republican who really improves the overall business climate to make the Asian and Pacific Islander groups to stop and think about how they are voting. If that happens, Clark will swing back to toss-up and allow the rest of the state to keep it Republican.
I used to work for a public employees union in CA. All the unions would have members register to vote in NV and bus them there to vote. They figured CA was safe for them so they were helping NV.
I think a lot of folks don’t realize how strong the unions are in Vegas. A lot of us don’t think of it as a union town.
I’m sure that happens...a lot of people here also have places in CA.
And the worst part of that is that the biggest union is the most radical union you will find anywhere - SEIU.
Well, Hillary won Nevada so this can’t hurt Trump no matter what happens.
Red Hampshire, CO, and NV are just too hard to win. I don’t think we can do a thing about it.
I hope they are checking the Names against Citizenship and residency.”””
Especially in Clark County. 74% of the Nevada state population lives in Clark County.
There are many, many illegals there. They work behind the scenes in the hotels & casinos. They have been openly voting in the caucuses for years. Part of following the Dirty Harry Reid book of politics.
While they are at it, they check all of the above information against the welfare rolls in Clark County, also.
The 2010 Nevada census shows that Clark County has 74 % of the population. IF you have never been around the state of Nevada—it is mostly large ranches on high desert conditions.
In the Nevada caucuses this year, Trump drew over 50% MORE attendees/voters than EVER before for any Republican in Nevada history. The lines were long & double wide. I was there almost 45 minutes before the doors were to open, & the building was already filled up. I stayed about an hour & a half & the lines outside were double deep & all the way thru the parking lot at the school. They had opened up the gates to the football field to park vehicles. They also ran out of ballots & had to go into the school & print more.
The short run on ballots was statewide. More had to be brought to a number of locations. People were very enthusiastic for Trump.
ID required? Not in Washoe. The poll workers told us that as long as name and signature were a “match” they were not allowed to ask for ID. We gave them our voter IDs anyway so they could find us on the rolls easier. Trump lost Washoe by about 2,500 or so votes.
Oh, we have. We LOVE the wide open spaces around this beautiful state.
