The worst of those who have been mentioned are Mitt Romney and Condi Rice.

Mitt would continue to be a snake in the grass.
And if he couldn’t stand up to Candy Crowley and Barack Obama how is he going to fare against the real hard cases of the world?

Condi was a horrible Secretary of State in her first try back in the G.W. Bush 2nd term.
I doubt she has improved.

I hope Trump stays away from both of them.

Bolton met with Pence yesterday. Will meet with Trump on Friday. So after Friday we'll be ready for twitter and the media on Sunday. Excellent....

I think Trump wants Romney in a different position than SOS...maybe something to do with money. Just don't know....maybe Trump just looking for input????

And where has Mr. Kerry disappeared to?? Hope he froze his a** off in the artic.

The left would go absolutely insaner than ever. That’s good enough reason to give it to Bolton for me.

I'll offer a big "Hell NO!" on this one.

We've been down this road before, and my strenuous objections are all posted here:

Putting a big-government globalist and paid shill for foreign interests in this role would be a disaster.

If State wasn’t a liberal basket case and didn’t need to be cleaned out, Romney running it wouldn’t really matter. Romney doesn’t have the spine to clean the place out and State needs a good cleaning before we have a properly working Department. I’m not a big fan of Bolton but he knows how the place works and he will get rid of State people who choose not to work for the Trump Administration.

There are a very few men in 'politics' who have impressed me every time I've seen them speak, with their forthrightness and plain, sober talk. Two of them are Dick Cheney and John Bolton.

I was very surprised when a recent thread on FR produced such a backlash against Bolton. Glad to see this one is more positive. I think he would be a fabulous choice as Trump's Sec of State.

Bolton for SOS.

Rudy for DHS.

Mitt for going away. What, exactly does he bring to the Table?

I have to agree with Bolton. Rudy has no diplomatic experience and more suited to homeland security. Petreus will never get through the Senate and Romney, well, he’s Romney and belongs at the end of Trump’s foot.

I would love to see Bolton as Secretary of State.

He would be a big FU to the MSM and the liberal establishment.
