Largest all-female expedition braves Antarctica to fight inequality, climate change

By Umberto Bacchi

LONDON (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - The largest all-female expedition to Antarctica, comprising 76 scientists, is due to set sail from Argentina on Friday in a quest to promote women in science and highlight the impact of climate change on the planet.

The international team will brave sub-zero temperatures to undergo a 20-day bootcamp on the frozen continent aimed at developing their leadership skills and challenging male dominance of senior scientific roles.

Women make up only 28 percent of the world's researchers and are particularly under-represented at senior levels, the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says.

Yet greater female leadership is needed to fight climate change, which disproportionately affects women, according to Fabian Dattner, co-founder of the Antarctica initiative, Homeward Bound.

"Mother Nature needs her daughters," said Dattner, an Australian entrepreneur and leadership coach.

That’s why this experiment only runs for 20 days.

It’s near summer now in the South. So their “expedition to brave Antarctica” is a fancy name to call a carbon-spewing taxpayers-funded summer vacation. Yet another globull warming scam.

They are fighting inequality and climate change. As far as being women, vive la difference! And, as for climate change, what if it is the result of the sun? Thinking they can fight the sun is the ultimate over-blown self worth.

As far as too much CO2, we need as much as we can get for the sake of the plants. It is the plants that give us Oxygen.

Those babes are the real cause of global warming. We all need a few of them to keep us warm for a winter’s nap.

“..whether he would be getting a scold from his teacher.”

My daughter, years ago in about 6th grade, would bring up stuff to debunk global warming at school. Her science teacher had us in and said something about how he was concerned that our daughter would get picked on for her views. Mom and I just laughed and said “Oh - she can take care of herself.”

Shortly after that meeting she had to do a poster-board. Of course she picked debunking global warming. Lots of science in it. (The teacher gave her an A!) She loves science, but she just doesn’t have the knack for numbers that is required. She does okay - but it is a HUGE effort for her.

"Of course there’s a man along, in case something goes wrong."

Yup, the Captain of the ship and the ship's crew. The "scientist" girls are basically just along for the ride. Of course the far left Reuters article makes no mention of this.

In Antarctica, they don't expect to encounter any spiders.

I think that’s an activist I could explore the softer side of my conservatism with. She looks like one of the ones who likes to jump up and down doing native dances, probly needs protection from those branches .....have a way of snatching away pieces of clothing but am happy to follow along and help tidy up. Wonder if she has a teepee ?

Will their transexual "sisters" be included?

There is an area just below the summit known as Rainbow Valley — because of the number of corpses there still clad in their bright down climbing jackets.

I imagine they will have nothing to do with their transexual “sisters.” All they have to offer is an excess of hot air, which is the real source of global warming.

What is it with all the gay wealthy eliteists participating in faux protests or activism when they are really just for money (Soros), vacations, or out of boredom lately? The strategist for the #NotMyPresident Alliance is from a wealthy family and takes the money she makes from Soros and uses it to travel and take trips all around the world. She must be making a killing.

It would be nice to have more women in science. But the problem is that they aren't interested. In fact they are not even interested in dating scientists, much less being one.

Inequality?

Yeah, it’s right over there, to the left of that ice floe. Start fighting.
