I’d love to see a law that states: No family member of a member of congress may be employed in the federal government, nor may they work or act as a lobbyist so long as their family member remains in elected position. If a family member is elected to federal office, they must leave their federal employment or lobbying position within 30 days of the election.
Sounds like a great idea. But I guess that one just got officially excised from the “drain the swamp” bill.
She will not be a federal employee, she will be an appointee. I believe there are different rule for both.
Personally, I think she’s a good pick for reasons others have stated, to keep Mitch in line. And she’s quite likely very intelligent & competent. And, I think she’s sorta cute.
