A sweeping free speech resolution has been rejected by Tufts Universitys student government, whose members called the effort to broaden and clarify students First Amendment rights unsafe.
Tufts has a red light speech-code rating from FIRE, which means it maintains at least one policy that both clearly and substantially restricts freedom of speech.

These students think they are building a “safe” castle for themselves. But they are instead building themselves a prison.
But perhaps they already know this, and they are just planning to be the prison’s wardens.
Free Speech is not about being safe.
Freedom, including free speech, is something that people fight and die for as tyrants will always be willing to control your speech and ideas.
Worse than a “Cupcake Nation” the Tufts student leaders have given aid and comfort to the enemy by their rejection of the First Amendment. The U.S. Constitution has a word for such actions.
Tufts should no longer be consider a “university,” but instead a commie whorehouse.

Are there any Jews upset by Palestinian and Muslim hate speech? Shut ‘em down.
Any self-declared conservatives who feel threatened by leftist demonstrations? Shut ‘em down.
Any whites who feel their safe-space (or indeed their safety) is impacted by pro-BLM activities? Shut ‘er down.
What is the standard for offense going to be.
Of course, we know the answer—it’s all in who decides. Or, as Stalin said, who counts the votes.
Well, Tufts is in the Boston metropolitan area, a leftist paradise.
In a just world, the DoJ would have a unit bringing these Civil Rights violators to court.
They’ll be the first to protest the Ohio State Univ. wacko’s shooting by police. They’ll whine at each and every such incident up to and including themselves being attacked.
We can hope the DJT administration will put the brakes on this nonsense. Why should we subsidize colleges that deny students basic rights and subject them to harrassment?
The politicization of the modern college campus can arguably be traced back to Mario Savio and the “Free Speech” movement at Berkeley in the early 1960’s. Apparently we’ve come full circle on that particular issue.

The exercise of all Constitutionally guaranteed rights is not subject to the whims of local authorities. You either have rights or you don’t. Any restrictions are tyranny.
