So far, I've only taught a few German words to my 6 YO grandson. I expect that he's picking up snippets of several different languages from his fellow kindergartners, such as Japanese, Korean, Farsi, Hindu. He's definitely the only "white Hispanic" in his class.
One word I taught comes in handy when we visit our favorite winery: hochgewachs, "The name “hochgewächs” literally means something like “high growth” to describe the grapes’ fuller ripening."
I think he just likes the way it sounds...lol.
