Central American countries warned on Thursday that large numbers of migrants have fled their poor, violent homes since Donald Trump's surprise election win, hoping to reach the United States before he takes office next year.
Trump won the Nov. 8 vote by taking a hard line on immigration, threatening to deport millions of people living illegally in the United States and to erect a wall along the Mexican border.
Trump's tough campaign rhetoric sent tremors through the slums of Central America and the close-knit migrant communities in U.S. cities, with many choosing to fast-forward their plans and migrate north before Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
During fiscal year 2016, the United States detained nearly 410,000 people along the southwest border with Mexico, up about a quarter from the previous year. The vast majority hail from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
Since Trump's victory, the number of people flocking north has surged, Central American officials say, contributing to a growing logjam along the southern U.S. border.

We need to send them back harshly!
1. All illegals who committed any other crime while in our country should be deported. No exceptions. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship.
2. All illegals who entered in the past four years, and thus have not been here long enough to have stronger ties here than at home, should be deported. In other words, no new growth in our illegal population. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. No exceptions.
3. Once those are taken care of, we should deport the remaining illegals (or better, encourage them to go home on their own). Allow those who go home on their own to apply for legal reentry and legal status. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship - again, no exceptions. For those who go home on their own, we should take into account in their visa applications any past history of productive work in the United States, English proficiency if they learned our language while here, and any record of living here without using welfare and other social services.
4. The only way for illegals to gain legal status should be to apply from their home countries for legal entry after voluntarily going home.
Banking on a hail Mary from Obama or a change of heart from Trump.

The article appears to me to be a justification for them to enter the country illegally.
Gotta get that ebt card, free housing, healthcare, education, free obama phone and whatever else they can get free.
Simply disallow birthright citizenship, all but emergency medical care, food stamps, jobs, housing, bank accounts, drivers licenses and amnesty. They will go home by themselves. When they set up a demonstration, surround the crowd and vet all within the crowd for ID or green cards. No speaky English, you go eee home eeee.
Coming in droves. They want Trump to be their president. LOL.

I’m SO looking forward to bringing the ICE raids back to my area. Not only will they round up the illegals from down South, but the latest influx of Chinese and SE Asians working in the local poultry processing plants.
They’ve been watching too much `Cops’. You know that reality show where the drunk driver thinks if he can just beat the police cruisers to his driveway, he wins?
They get deported and popped again and they get two years in prison.
They’ll have a short stay.
Because they want to make our country just like their socialist paradise? Actually, it's because we coddle them and give them free food, housing and services.
