In a Trump presidency, uncertainty reigns over California immigrant health care

Health coverage and immigration status are inextricably linked for many Californians.

Citizens and many lawfully present immigrants are eligible for most health care options.

For other immigrants, insurance availability varies by status.

If you’re an unauthorized immigrant, for instance, you can’t purchase a plan from Covered California, the state health insurance exchange, or get full access to Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program for low-income residents. Your children, however, may qualify for comprehensive Medi-Cal benefits even if they don’t have permanent legal status.

BS, of course they can and even if the feds stop it, CA has the money to take care of illegals without fed $. /s

“In a Trump presidency, uncertainty reigns over California immigrant health care”

Immigrants are legal American citizens, and have no separate category

Illegals don’t have a right to anything.

California should just secede and be done with it; it will become Venezuela in 18 months.

“...there are laws in place to protect the confidentiality of any information you provide,”. (Said to Illegals)

Oh yeah, there are laws in place to keep you out of the country.

Which laws apply? Ones to protect US borders or illegals.

Illegals will get nothing. Do you hear me now?

That's what the people of California voted for (twice) and was overturned by the courts.

Texas Legislature convenes in January. Presented my agenda to our Congressman which included no state funded healthcare benefits for anyone under age 18 unless both biological parents were either born in the United States and can prove it or have both become citizens. DNA testing to verify who their real bio parents are should be mandatory.

Also suggested that there be no state funding for any ESL classes. In support of PE Trump no state funding of any kind to any sanctuary city including Houston, Dallas, El Paso, San Antonio, the Valley areas or Austin and that a voucher program be initiated state wide. His wife is a retired public school teacher drawing a sizeable retirement check and he was not happy to hear the recommendations from our family.

Gee, the squatter who broke into your house may not get to sleep in the master bedroom or have the keys to the car! Horrors!

Twenty-year-old Yesenia, who asked to be identified by first name only, got DACA status right away in 2012. However, the Los Angeles resident didn’t sign up for full Medi-Cal benefits until last week, with the help of Maternal and Child Health Access.

"Medi-Cal (Medicaid) was to be limited to 18 or younger unauthorized (illegal) immigrants. Why can this 20 year old sign up?"

If I were to jump to conclusions, I would assume that she was pregnant. That would be a reason for a 20 year old female to seek assistance from Maternal and Child Health Access to gain Medi-Cal benefits.

Maybe they should go back to where they came from, for their care, rather than sopping up the limited US taxpayer monies allocated to health care.

Or here’s a better idea: get government out of health care, let the free market take over, and then everyone pays their own way, even the illegal alien invaders. No more handouts.

Noting that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes, Obamacare a major act of fraud on citizens by the corrupt Washington cartel imo, please consider the following.

If California were to lead the states to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, then the states would probably find a tsunami of new state revenues that they wouldn’t know what to do with.

California could then pay for healthcare for immigrants out of its own 10th Amendment-protected state revenues for healthcare without needing to steal revenues from other states through unconstitutional federal taxing and spending.

Emily screwed up. If some are ‘lawfully present’ then some must be ‘unlawfully present’. I’ll take that. So instead of illegal immigrants they’re ‘unlawfully present immigrants’. I’ll use that phrase from now on.

I prefer the name Criminal Alien. Completely descriptive.

Any person coming into the US without an invite is a criminal and should be treated as such.
