Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said she is receiving a deluge of comments about the possibility of Mitt Romney being selected as secretary of State.

"Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney," Conway said, linking to a story about Trump loyalists who are unhappy with the possibility.

She also stressed loyalty as a key trait for a secretary of State in a follow-up tweet.

Trump has already chosen 10,000s of workers.

He doesn’t need my advice.

“Check out #NeverRomney on Twitter”

Last night I heard that twitter wasn’t allowing that hashtag to trend, which was itself a sign. If the “enemedia” is signalling it wants a particular candidate for SOS, that should be the last person to be chosen for our side...

Romney’s loyalty is problematic given what the past 4 years revealed about his sneaky devious self delusional character

I would suspect to the Uniparty establishment , as Secretary of State Romney would become an alternative to the President, and be pursued and quoted by the media on every issue, being used to play against Trump’s policies, decisions and authority ... And he might just bask in the role thinking they really did respect him as a political and GOP alternative figure ( in reality just a tool )

Donald, you knew he was a snake before you took him in ...

The Star Wars Barroom Creatures in the UN (I stole that from someone) would easily pull the wool over Romney's eyes. He's too wimpy and doesn't seem to be good at thinking on his feet.

Romney is a weakling and a gaffematic. Remember when he went to England and criticized the Brits over preparations for the Olympics? It was during the 2012 election cycle. His grand European tour was supposed to showcase his foreign policy chops. Instead it was a disaster.

I like Dr. Sebastian Gorka.

I think Sec. of Commerce might have been a logical spot for Romney, but:

I’m not sure he’d have taken it.

Trump apparently felt he already had somebody better for that job.

If you ostracize Romney, you have a potentially dangerous enemy working full-time to defeat you in 2020. Keeping him on the team and on a short leash is a better plan - use him for what he is undoubtedly good at (communication) and at the same time keep a close eye on what he is doing. Romney will be under a lot more pressure this way than if he is sitting at home, brooding and plotting.

Well he has experience in that area.

Agree. I am glad Kellyanne is hearing from Trump supporters about NOT having Romney as SOS.....I have sent a message to that effect...anybody can.....https://www.greatagain.gov/

Have no idea if this message gets to anyone of consequence in the Trump administration....but it felt good to send it.

making romnuts sos could be setting him up to fail as payback.

It's highly unlikely Trump would make a juvenile game of a position as important as SoS.

LOL, yeah hard to believe they’re getting tons of comments praising the Romney pick. Unless they’re form Mormons or Hugh Hewitt. When Hugh Hewitt is praising you, as he did to Trump on his radio show this week for putting Romney and Haley’s names in contention and vowing to not prosecute Hillary, you know you’re doing something wrong.

If Kellyanne isn’t pushing Romney, I know for a fact Bannon isn’t. That only leaves Rinse and Repeat. He will be outvoted.

Let him brood and plot. That's what he was doing before the election. A lot of good that did. I say keep him and others of his ilk out of our recovery. It's people like him that helped get us into the mess we're in now. We don't need him to help screw up our recovery.

What would be best is for Mitt Romney to publicly and graciously apologize to Trump and at the same time remove his name for consideration, citing personal interests or something.

IF romney had any honor, any integrity, any love for the Republic, he would but romeny being romney, he doesn't and he won't.

He is scum.

That would be an egregious misuse of office, in my opinion, and I would not support it in the least. Trump needs to find and nominate the best candidates he can, to fill the critically important positions in his administration.

Yes. I’ve texted Bannon a number of times telling him of the outrage that Minion is being considered. They know.
