Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said she is receiving a deluge of comments about the possibility of Mitt Romney being selected as secretary of State.

"Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney," Conway said, linking to a story about Trump loyalists who are unhappy with the possibility.

She also stressed loyalty as a key trait for a secretary of State in a follow-up tweet.

While Conway didn’t indicate if the feedback was positive or negative, some Trump supporters and allies have tried to steer the President-elect from nominating Romney as the U.S.’s chief diplomat.

Keep your friends close and Romney closer. I am going to side with Trump on this one, and think that Romney has accepted the fact that he F*ed up. I think he would do a good job and he would be loyal to Trump.

Who should he pick? There’s problems with everyone of these guys: Bolton, Rudy, Romney, Corker

people like Romney need to be totally ostracized. There is no place for him in a Trump administration.

What would be best is for Mitt Romney to publicly and graciously apologize to Trump and at the same time remove his name for consideration, citing personal interests or something.

I kind of doubt that will happen though. Could Romney serve as Secretary of State? He probably could, it wouldn't ruin my day and the windfall of unity might make the first two years of Trump's Presidency more successful than otherwise.

While your comment is technically true, I think the message was made quite clear by the link. They're getting the messages we sent.

If that is the case, wouldn't it help if he publicly acknowledged ir?

Bolton

He is a staunch pro U.S. man to the core.

Romney could even say something like: My and other’s opposition to Trump likely cost him the popular vote, but now we put that behind us and we stand unified with him in his quest to Make America Great Again.

Romney’s not at the top of my list but I’ll bet that he’s still a better pick than Colon Bowel.

Did I miss something? Did Trump say himself he’s tapped Romney for this?

Trump got more popular votes than Romney and won.

What possible windfall of unity could you be talking about?

The windfall would have to be Romney’s since he’s in the inferior position.

NO!

We have been hitting hard on twitter about #NeverRomney...I don’t know about any of you, but I didn’t work my butt off to help get Trump elected to have this Neo=Con working in our government...

And if Kelly Anne Conway can’t get over her neo con buddies, she should step the hell down!!!

Trump is not an idiot... He has outplayed most of his enemies and blown away his supporters with 5000D chess moves. I do not like Romney at all, however if you wanted to stifle those that would run against you in 2 years.... pull them into your side of the line.
