Donald Trump schlepped across town on Tuesday to meet with the publisher of The New York Times and some editors, columnists and reporters at the paper.
As The Times reported, Trump actually seemed to soften some of his positions:
He seemed to indicate that he wouldn’t seek to prosecute Hillary Clinton. But he should never have said that he was going to do that in the first place.
He seemed to indicate that he wouldn’t encourage the military to use torture. But he should never have said that he would do that in the first place.
He said that he would have an “open mind” on climate change. But that should always have been his position.
You don’t get a pat on the back for ratcheting down from rabid after exploiting that very radicalism to your advantage. Unrepentant opportunism belies a staggering lack of character and caring that can’t simply be vanquished from memory. You did real harm to this country and many of its citizens, and I will never — never — forget that.

I expect no less than this from the NYT. They are butt hurt. They are trying to redeem themselves after the election. Trump decidedly won the first battle, but the war goes on. Let the man actually assume office before we rake him over the coals. Wait until Obama’s out of there and can’t pardon anyone. After the Electoral vote things may ramp up a bit, and then go full bore after the inauguration. Between now and then the media is all out to convince people what a disaster it is that the cretins in flyover country were suckered into electing (whatever pejorative they are using for Trump today)

Just a few things I’ve noticed, Trump will protect the 2nd amendment , is about to stop politicized science as in NASA’s global warming etc., Stopping the FCC (saving the Internet, Privatizing the government private schools. Hillary would have made all this go the other way .
President elect Trump saved America from Hillary Clinton a communist that would have been the total destruction of the USA.
President Hillary Clinton would have flooded the USA with 3rd world immigrants, including millions of Muslim Syrians and other Muslims. FYI there are 7 billion people in the world most of them in poverty , 1.7 billion Muslims in poverty. This alone would have been the end of the USA and freedom. Plus Hillary is a hard core communist who would have imported all these 3rd world immigrants as voters for communism in the USA
This is just 1 point that shows we should be extremely thankful Trump beat Hillary and her allies the GOPe and democrats and the media and world establishment to save America
Trump also already stopped TPP(saved U.S. sovereignty) and many companies are saying they will make things in the USA again (Apple, Ford,HP, and many others already).

Reagan had to compromise with Washington - in his defense, all he had was a Republican Senate for most of his presidency.
The Democratic House appropriated and spent money and he had a very difficult job holding the line on spending and he knew real reforms had fat chance of happening.
Trump has no such excuses. Which makes his backsliding a potent sign of things to come.

Suggest everyone hear it straight from Trump's mouth, read the exact text of his statements and balance it against his actions and his results. The stuff here is exactly like the primary. This move, going into the lion's den (twice) and letting them know that he knows he'll never get a fair shake and also letting them know not only is he not afraid of them but he's more than ready to take the fight TO them.

I am optimistic, though I know there’s a huge mountain already on Trump’s plate. There is so much that I would like to see accomplished, and I do think Trump has the best chance to actually bring about some of this change, despite his many enemies and, apparently “supporters”, too.
Maybe, just maybe, he’s manipulating the press like the press tries to manipulate to us!
