That’s it. By being the FIRST in an argument to claim the other is racist, they try to claim the high ground and put the other on the defensive. Of course, it only SEEMS to work from their own jaded perspective because they know they themselves would be horrified to be called racist.
They cannot fathom that those who know they are not racists just ignore the labeling and move on to the actual facts of the case. Then they claim that because you are not dignifying the remark by denying the label, that you are admitting it.
It is so tiring arguing with liberals that I no longer do it.
Nowadays its a signal that you have won the argument.
Dealing with people where they are, certainly requires an effort to understand where they are.
A lot of accusations that white people are racist are coming from souls who have managed to make invalid assumptions about people based on race.
But in the case of problems associated with some particular minority groups, I think a good case can be made that leftists have egged on the associated group identities in various ways. This is, of course, cruel! I note less how hypocritical it is, than how cruel it is.
And the leftists are supposed to be the kindness people, but they are more like the making-excuses people.
Dont forget the close second “sexist”.
The author’s bias is obvious in the statement “don’t call them and their views deplorable, even if you think they are”.
They’d be better off reading Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis.
The left engages in classic bigotry - they hate all those who don’t agree with them and use the most powerful insults and social pressure to punish those who dissent.
I think it’s worth it to keep pressing the truth.
The most damning thing of all... as I see it... is that the lefties are being cruel to the minorities they are supposedly advocating for, by playing up their situations as far worse than they are. Cruel. CRUEL!

That article reads like it was written by a progressive liberal, for consumption by other progressive liberals.
The author of the book it references, spent five long years ‘studying’ normal American people in Louisiana, and yet learned nothing. She came away from the experience still insulated within her protective bubble, disconnected from the woof and warp of everyday America.
As soon as a liberal calls you a racist he has won the argument. In his ind there is nothing more to say by either party. He has identified you as a racist therefore you are not worth talking to as you are hopelessly rational and he is right because he has identified you. Truth is true because a liberal speaks it and for no other necessary reason.
The wonderful thing about the 1st Amendment is that it protects the ability to THINK what you want, BELIEVE what you decide, WORSHIP whoever you want, as long as it does not infringe on anyone else’s individual rights. Thought is not a crime, we are judged on our ACTIONS.
Unfortunately, the law regulating ‘hate crime’ is half way to making ‘thought’ a crime.

So. Her thesis was that if she didn’t **start out** by calling people racists, they’d actually invite her into their homes.
