Donald Trump asked Ben Carson to consider serving as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, an advisor to the former Republican presidential candidate said Tuesday.
They discussed the potential job at a meeting in the morning and Carson is "seriously considering" it, said the advisor, Armstrong Williams.
"It’s a role that plays to Dr. Carson’s passions," he said.
Asked what qualifications the retired neurosurgeon has for overseeing housing policy, Williams said: “Dr. Carson has experience with everything. You’d be shocked at the depth of his experience.”

Correct me if I am wrong, but HUD seems outside his area of expertise.
I would hope that Carson’s directive would be to shutter the agency altogether.
He’s perfect for SG–far better than Elders.
He will be attacked for putting a black in a steotypically black slot.
That was my first thought as well.
But the article said he has very broad interests, which includes this. I would have guessed Surgeon General, but he is competent, honest and he will do a great job, if he accepts.
Since Democrats control a lot of the media, mean, vicious and nasty things will CONTINUE to be written and spoken about President-elect Trump.

Ben Carson will pull a Trump card if he gets the job, that is, whatever he might not know, he will FIND and HIRE someone who does.
Abolish HUD. Housing isn’t a Constitutional right and HUD policies are contributing to the homeless and high rents.
Agree. HUD needs to be shut down completely and permanently.
Not sure how these things work, but maybe once someone knows he’s/she’s being considered for a position perhaps they’re asked if they feel drawn to one post more than another?

Surgeon General or head of the VA would be. I think he turned down the VA.
There is some specific reason Donald wants Dr.Ben to climb abroad the Trump Train. Sometimes, your friends can see your qualities and potential long before you do. Get him on board, but not where he has to constantly respond to the press or go on the Sunday Shows.

Because he is an expert neuro-surgeon, does not mean he does not understand the concepts of other areas. The man is a genius and has common sense. He was raised in a low income demographic and excelled to live in a more affluent demographic.
He gets the whole picture, unlike a person who is a community organizer.
