On Wednesday, 16 November, 2016, two brothers decided to rob a Bucks County pizza shop in Levitown, Pennsylvania. It was just after 10 p.m. The shop had closed only moments before, but there was one customer left inside.
During the robbery, one of the brothers, Shawn Rose, pistol whipped the customer on the forehead. The customer dropped to one knee.
In a fluid and rapidly changing situation, it is very hard for perpetrators to keep track of all the actors. It only takes a momentary lapse to give a victim a chance to strike back.
Rose looked away. The customer drew a .45 caliber Glock 30 or 36 from his pocket, and shot both brothers. Shawn was killed and Justin was critically wounded in the throat and shoulder. From nbcphiladelphia.com:
Shawn Rose allegedly pistol-whipped the customer in the forehead causing him to drop down to one knee. As Shawn Rose looked away for a moment, the customer pulled out his own .45 caliber handgun from his jacket and fired one shot, striking him in the torso, officials said.
Officials said the customer then fired two shots at Justin Rose, striking him in the throat and shoulder area. Justin Rose fell through the door of the store. The customer then aimed his weapon at the two brothers until police arrived.
Every fatal shooting is fraught with consequences. In this case, there was an added complexity. The shooter had a concealed carry permit, but the permit was expired.
Weintraub said the customer could have been charged however because he had an expired permit to carry a concealed weapon. They decided not to charge him based on the totality of the circumstances.

If it was a Glock, it would probably be .45 ACP. I am unaware of any Glocks chambered in .45 Colt.
I have weapons of both those calibers and I like them both a lot.
I really like hand-loading for my .45 Colt Ruger old-style Vaquero. It’s stout enough that I can do up some hot loads that get near-44 magnum velocities with a 250 grain slug.
And, while I mean no offense to my beloved 1911s, my new FNX is simply the best .45 ACP weapon I have ever fired.
Oops! You are correct. I forgot about .45 GAP.
Given it was a Glock, .45 ACP
Assuming the writer was correct about “Glock 30 or 36”.
(Okay, okay, so it is all a lie. But why would the truth matter when I have an agenda?)
Just out of curiosity, what would be the difference between being pistol-whipped with a fake pistol, versus a real one?
I mean, there’d be a good bit of difference between the two from the standpoint of being shot, but being smashed in the head with a ‘fake’ pistol strikes me as being just as likely to result in injury as being smashed in the head with a operable firearm.
Yeah. I guess it must have been a semi-automatic pistol and not a revolver as most people don’t conceal carry a revolver anyway and I don’t think any company makes a semi auto in .45 colt.
I am partial to revolvers. Hardly ever jam. And .45 colt is a NICE round. Have a lever action in .45 colt too.
Well, once he drew it, he was openly carrying...
Didn’t Justin Rose win gold in golf at the Rio Olympics? What’s he doing robbing a pizza shop?
45 colt is a revolver round. 45acp
Yea, I think you are
The customer who shot the robber was not charged. You think he should have been?
Not from what I read......lighten up
In Indiana you can get a lifetime carry permit for just a few bucks more than a five year one.
God given Rights have no expiration date. Just sayin’.
Cowboy....
Center of mass is always recommended, head shots are more difficult, but I’ve always thought a throat shot would bring things to an immediate end. The perp has only one goal and that is to hold his neck and gasp for air in panic.
Agreed. I have plenty of semis, but my go to is a 357 revolver. S&W 686 w 4in barrel
When I was 20 a gunsmith friend told me it would last me for life. He was right.
So in all of this, where are the pictures of the two perpetrators? I know, they’re Black so their families need time to fabricate stories about how these two mensas were studying brain surgery and the world has lost a couple of Dr. Ben Carsons (s). It angers me that this worthless human crap sullies the reputations of men like Dr. Carson, Sheriff Clarke, Col. West, and others who are striving to help us to be better people.
There’s nothing like a SAA for pure fun, and nothing like a SIG for social purposes. But the FNX looks nice too; Haven’t shot it, will have to give it a try.
Cowboy and redneck. :)
No biggie, I have to look ‘em up from time to time myself. Besides, I’m a Sig guy; my wife is the Glock fan.
Exactly! What part of “shall not be infringed” don’t they get?
Any permit is infringing on a right....do we need permits to speak?
