What should federal employees expect from a boss-in-chief whose workforce philosophy is best known for two words Youre fired?
More firings.
President-elect Donald Trump would start with the Department of Veterans Affairs, which remains a target for Republicans after a scandal that erupted in 2014 over the coverup of long wait times for patients.
If firings do increase, dont think they will stop at the VA: Two of Trumps high-profile advisers have urged him to fire feds faster across the government.
This is the second of two columns examining Trumps approach to the workforce. Last week, we examined his plan to freeze federal hiring. Today, we look at his campaigns firing proposals in light of measures that injure due process for civil servants while undermining the agency meant to protect them.
Lets begin with an acknowledgment that firing federal employees can be long and cumbersome because of civil service procedures. Lets also acknowledge the importance of procedures protecting civil servants from being fired at will, like a contestant on a Trump reality show.
The public is the main beneficiary of civil service laws that also protect employee rights.
Trump says he wants to make the VA great again by firing the corrupt and incompetent VA executives. His 10-point plan to change the VA says he will use the powers of the presidency to remove and discipline the federal employees and managers who have violated the publics trust.

RIF....... the much feared RIF, reduction in force
“My God! the whole DRG and a lot over at the HRE department were RIFFed!”

You need to study up. As was noted during the debates on the Wisconsin rule changes, federal rules were already far more strict than those proposed by Walker. For example:
Federal unions may not negotiate salaries as they are set by Congress. Federal unions may only negotiate conditions of employment, ie, when the work day starts and ends, how many bathrooms, cafeteria hours, etc.
All Federal jobs are “right to work” and no one can compel a federal employee to join a union.
Now what Trump could do is get rid of the federal union employees who are paid by the treasury to do union work on government time.
Fat, obnoxious Black women will be hardest hit. Literally.
Faster than not at all.
This cannot happen fast enough.
It may not sound exciting, but the apparatchiks are one of the greatest weapons of the communists, and must be excised like the cancer they are.
Eliminate all public unions - including the police.
Unions turn all government employees into shock troops, whether the rank and file want to be such or not.
Should be no problem after he gets rid of the unions. Or as Gov. Walker did with Act 10 in Wisconsin, simply limit collective bargaining to wages only and prohibit the employer (us) from collecting union dues or requiring membership in a union (right to work). You can skim over all the provisions here, its pretty amazing piece of legislation:

Trump needs Walker on his team.
Bravissimo!
"A scandal"? As I recall it was a condition found at many VA Health Centers, so to call it a single scandal is hardly accurate! Let us continue though, remember the 2 high level VA Administrators who 'played' the system to get travel bonuses for just commuting? The Obama Admin ended up saying that there was nothing that could be done to them and they are apparently still employed there.
Just let Trump bring in his people to monitor the government firewalls and block the sites. See who complains.
Ok, do it this way. Cut all funding to the EEOC. Then start mass firings of fed employees.
I suggest that T begin eliminating federal jobs in California. It is the humane action as many jobs for lettuce pickers will be opening at the same time. No long periods of unemployment.
Yeah; it’s hard to fire them outright, but you would be surprised how easy it is to demote them into personal bankruptcy.
LOL!
One recent thing illustrating government speed and efficiency:
—On one hand it took months to examine thousands of Clinton emails,
—Then on the other hand several hundred thousand were evaluated in just a few days.
How can such two rates of progress, be in practice?
