Incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) warned Sunday that Democrats would filibuster Donald Trump's Supreme Court candidates if they are not "mainstream."
"If he doesn't nominate a mainstream candidate, we're going to go at him with everything we've got ... Because this is so, so important," Schumer said on NBC's "Meet the Press." While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had suggested doing away with the filibuster, Schumer said Republicans "don't come with clean hands, having delayed Merrick Garland for a whole year."
President Obama nominated Garland to fill the vacancy left by the death of Antonin Scalia, but the Republican Senate blocked the nomination in hopes that a Republican would win the White House.
When Trump takes office in January, he will almost certainly appoint a conservative nominee to fill the vacancy.

Call his bluff. I’ll bet he hasn’t stood in one place for more than five minutes in twenty years. It’ s important to cut him down to size right out of the gate. Twitch’s problem is he condemned the nuclear option while Reid did it.

Force them to do the filibuster in the old style then do the approvals anyway with the new Democrat Senate Rules. Let them filibuster by telling stories or just babbling from the floor then at a certain point cut them off and use the Democrat simple majority rule for nominations. If they filibuster to breakdown and can’t prevent a cloture vote, instead of calling the cloture vote, ostentatiously follow the Democrat rule, instead. Rub it innnnnnnn

No. it can be difficult to get people to run. Mitchssd primaried. Ryan was primaried. McShamey was primaried Unfortunately their voters think different
I’ll give you Collins. I doubt the rest will support the Democrats to retain the filibuster rule. Actually, the one I’m most concerned with is McConnell.
None of the others are any friends of Trump. Hatch has said he wouldn't vote to repeal the filibuster.
