Rand Paul Blasts Giuliani, Bolton As Possible Trump Secretary of State Picks [Trump KY 30 Pts Lead!]

EMILY SCHULTHEIS CBS NEWS November 20, 2016 Rand Paul Blasts Giuliani, Bolton As Possible Trump Secretary of State Picks

As President-elect Donald Trump assembles his cabinet, he’ll have to have many of those top positions approved by the Senate -- and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said Mr. Trump might have a hard time getting people like former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani or former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton passed as secretary of state.

“You know, it’s a very close vote. I mean, there’s 52 Republicans. Some of the people that have been put forward I think are not guaranteed to get any Democrat support,” Paul told CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “So they lose my support and a couple of other Republicans … so I think that there are several potential Republican votes against someone like a Bolton. Possibly Giuliani.”

Paul said Mr. Trump’s opposition to the Iraq war is a big part of why he decided to support him -- and he wants to make sure that whoever is installed in the State Department’s Foggy Bottom offices next year holds the same view on the issue. He has previously said he will vehemently oppose Bolton’s confirmation should Trump tap him for the job.

“I want people that run the State Department who agree with Donald Trump. And so I’m trying to help. I’m trying to be helpful here,” he said. “And the problem -- with both Bolton and Giuliani is they’re unrepentant in their support for the Iraq war. They haven’t learned any of the lessons.”

Rand, McCain, and Graham need to go take a jump in the lake

...along with the other weirdo RINO's who never have anything constructive to say conservatively and always act pragmatic to the Democrats who are NEVER pragmatic nor civil.

I would be happy with either Rudy or Bolton ! Bolton may have a bit more foreign policy experience while Rudy might be better in another responsible capacity but IMHO we are very fortuate they’ll be in our new administration. My LORD how much better they both are to such racist and/or anti-American/incompetent trash we’ve suffered the last 8 years!

Yes, we could sit here and comfortably argue about statement or action X or Y that either Rudy or Bolton has said or done over the years. Suffice it to say, we should be looking at the 90% of the glass that’s full...for either of these capable men.
THANK GOD Trump won! Let’s try to get behind him now and let him start fixing some of the damage inflicted on America by the infiltrator in chief these past eight years.
We can start complaining after he’s made some serious booboos, but so far...so good!
IMHO. which is worth a bit less than what you’ve paid for it, ha!

Since Harry Reid unilaterally abolished the filibuster for Presidential appointments and Vice President Pence will get to break any tie votes in the Senate, it will take at least 3 RINOs to block any of Trump’s nominations.

That's not rendering particularly well, but Trump outpolled Rand by over 5% in Rand's home state. From here.

Did Rand win the presidential election?

No, but neither did the neocons. Hence, Rand Paul's concern.

Personally, at this moment, I guess I'd prefer Newt Gingrich, or maybe even Mitt Romney (assuming he kissed the ring). But the less "neocon" the better, ultimately, IMHO...

No, I can't get more than a few percent of a national vote for president, but I can tell a man who was elected president what to do.

Rand, for heaven's sake, quit embarrassing yourself. Maybe you can't grasp it, but the rest of us can.

Orrin Hatch (Utah), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Susan Collins (Maine), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Rob Portman (Ohio), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Ron Johnson (Wis.) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) thought that Loretta Lynch was qualified and voted to confirm her.

I hope they think that Bolton and Giuliani are at least as qualified as Lynch.

I don’t know. Bold has that special, in-your-face Americanism that we need much more of. Besides, I used to be a firm believer in Bush II but now I think he is nothing shit In a suit.

My thoughts are the same as yours although I have no personal connection. He was solid as a rock for us at the U.N., and never faltered when support for Israel was on the line.

In an interview with Rand I saw on tv the other day, Rand said he prefers Corker.

So I do not prefer Rand.

Who cares if Rand Paul agrees or not.

He’s done nothing but run around the country and allow the MSM to use him to denounce everything Trump does and says.

I think it’s time for somebody to tell Rand that he’s not going to change what Trump needs and wants to do. And, he’s only ruining his own reputation; if that’s what he wants.
