“There are churches in New Jersey?”

LOL!
You are right. I have a good friend in New Jersey who is a Republican; there are many conservatives, from what I understand, in the suburbs and rural areas. But I am not from the area, so I don’t know for sure.
About 16 miles west of me...
I have been praying for him to go to church. I hope this continues.
I continue to pray for him, Pence, their safety, their families, and many others who have been chosen to lead.
Newark was a Puritan settlement. The surprising number of evangelicals was responsible for Schundler’s almost victory in 2002.
We haven’t had a president who attended church for years. Clinton didn’t. Obama didn’t.
But you want to criticize.
Pointing out facts isn’t criticizing.
Newark was late to the game in NJ settlement after those closer to the Hudson River like Jersey City (the Dutch portion). Schundler’s support was from a wide array of parents seeking vouchers for schools; unfortunately, it didn’t materialize for us.
Just pointing out that it was called New Ark for a reason.
I had thought it was named after Newark, England, which I visited and saw the “castle” (only one wall remaining). Then found out later it was christened by a devout Puritan to be a “new ark.” It was almost named something else—forget what.
In elementary school I had the descendants of these people as teachers.
All, seen a lot posted here. As someone who lives in Bedminster, and is involved with local government let me say that there isn’t a left wing church to be found here. Somerset County and Bedminster in particular is as deep red as you can get (for now). I say for now because most conservatives are growing tired of the liberal overlords in Trenton and are abandoning NJ for greener pastures down South.
Bedminster is a true island in the middle of a left wing sea of carpola.
You could turn New Jersey red if eminent domain was used to widen the New Jersey Turnpike to a ten mile right of way.
“Not keen on seeing victory mosques. . “
In all fairness the zoning board rejected it as it was across the street from the fire station and a park. They held a two year hearing on it. The chief proponent was the former mayor of Basking Ridge, himself a Muslim. Kinda funny to watch a guy who was elected by a community twice call them racist.
The fact is they are members of the PC(USA), which is a pro-gay, pro-abortion, anti-Israel denomination.
Ok, I’ll be sure to tell my friends that they are flaming libs by virtue of their attendance.
A cut of the money they put in the offering plate goes to the home office and supports those activities. So they are directly supporting the denomination’s “work.”
LOL!!
Ping to post 50.
Interesting; thanks for the info! Some people initially confuse it with Newark Delaware, which is very much pronounced “New Ark” (as opposed to Nork NJ)...
LOL. Ok, USN serving as a chaplain in the USMC.
Sorry to pic nits, but I am retured Military and it is hard to put that aside. ;-)
