Future First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron will not be moving to the White House after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, The Post has learned.
The president-elect’s 46-year-old wife and their 10-year-old son are staying put at the family’s glitzy Trump Tower penthouse so that Barron can continue attending his Upper West Side private school, sources told The Post.
“Melania is extremely close to Barron, and they have become closer during the campaign,” said a source close to Trump’s transition team. “The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum.”
Another source said Melania Trump will travel to the White House as needed, but that her primary focus is on Barron.
“Melania is very supportive of her husband and is fully on board of doing everything that’s needed as first lady,” said the second source familiar with the Trump transition.
That source said also that there is a possibility that Melania and Barron may move to the White House at the end of the school year, but no plans are in place.
“She is really devoted to Barron,” said a source close to the family, adding that Melania has not relied on nannies to raise the child and is frequently seen picking the fourth-grader up from his prep school, where tuition is north of $40,000.
The decision to remain in their Midtown home will increase the security presence around Trump Tower — an effort that will involve both Secret Service and the NYPD, an expert familiar with high-level security told The Post.
“That building is going to become the White House of New York,” said Jim Reese, a former Delta Force commander and president of TigerSwan, a global security company based in North Carolina.

Well, it was, what, 2 or 3 in the morning? The kid probably wanted to go back to bed.
I have always thought less of presidential candidates with young children. It is a tremendous stress on a young person to be transitioned into a fishbowl existence. The new boatload of friends who want to be in your orbit, people who use you as surrogates for your parents. I view those candidates as putting their ambition above their children’s lives.
Once more I am struck by the essential goodness and consideration of Trump & his family. Giving Barron at least a 6 month period where he is with schoolmates and teachers who already know him, while he adjusts to his new notoriety is the best thing that I could have heard. Its for the adults to adjust. Trump did not run for ambition and this accommodation confirms that he will be as faithful to America’s best interests as he is to his family.

I know a man who got married late in life, has only one child & it costs him over $25,000 a year for the private school tuition for his child. He does not live in a high rent place. Middle class. $40,000 for a more exclusive school in a high rent city like NYC doesn’t seem strange to me.
I also mentioned in another post that he appeared this way at the GOP convention which was 10 PM.

Say, since you brung it up, who picks up the Obola girls and what is the tuition at Sidwell Friends, the private school they attend/ed?
I highly doubt this will turn out to be true, although if it plays out this way that they stay in Manhattan due to Barron finishing his school year, it ought to be no problem.
Because I hadn’t seen it and if I had I would have skipped it.

JMO - President Elect Trump has raised four outstanding children - Barron is the fifth. He has always put his children first in his extremely busy life, as attested to by his grown children.
The White House is currently uninhabitable, and for the first year at least will be a mess, cleaning, upgrading and very busy.
He’s married to a strong and accomplished woman who appears to have no desire to be a *star* like our current first lady. She seems to have one goal, support of her husband and child.
I think they have made a decision based on what’s best for the family and for Barron, not what is best for optics. I believe we will see Melania and Barron when necessary for public events, other than that, they will be very much in the background.
Did you see what a dump the Yellow Room was when she and Moo had tea the other day? It was filthy so can only imagine what the private quarters are like. Give the WH about six months of 24/7 hazmat sanitation and another two or three years to renovate and she might move in.
And, additionally, Trump isn’t taking a salary.
