Donald Trumps choice of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III for U.S. Attorney General is deeply disturbing. Our nation does not need an Attorney General with a history of hostility toward civil rights law, as well as disdain for voting rights activists overseeing civil rights and voting rights enforcement.
Sessions was considered too racist to be a federal judge in the 1980s. At that time, he was the second nominee in fifty years to be rejected by a U.S. Senate committee. At a critical time in our history when voting rights are in jeopardy and voter suppression has become a principal electoral tool of a major political party, Jeff Sessions is the opposite of what we need to lead the Justice Department.
The United States Senate should reject the nomination of Jeff Sessions for Attorney General and prevent him from attempting to drag our great nation backwards to the 1860s.
:-)
I’d rather not go there...
“After Donald Trumps surprising victory in the presidential election, Rob Schneider 53-year-old comedian addressed the outcry from the left over Hillary Clintons loss with a single tweet Friday.”
I havent seen the Democrats this mad since we freed the slaves!
We have to laugh at these kinds of statements.
Ridicule is the best defense to hyperbole.
Funny how many of the late 80s SNL folks are conservative: Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, Rob Schneider, and Jon Lovitz are all pretty conservative now.
Likely written by children just out of college, their history classes must have taught feelings instead of facts.
I am sure when they learned about the South and slavery they assumed the nasty Republicans were the slave owners and no one corrected them.
I wish these dildos would have said how much "racist" was "too racist". Morons.
In the 2014 Midterm Elections whites in Alabama voted 89% Republican.
I guess the Dems think their 11% is still too high...
The Democrat Party in Alabama. . . .irrelevant.
A great endorsement for sessions.
Democrats Deeply Disturbed?
Whoda thought that!
Bunch of moobs.
They’re just upset that Sessions convicted a Klan member.
Elections have consequences. We won. Now go put out your sit-upons and sing kumbaya.
Once in a while, a political smear is so spectacularly false that the one doing the smearing winds up damaged, while the intended victim escapes unharmed.
The smear against Jeff Sessions is a case in point. Sessions is so convincingly honorable and polite, that his attackers will wind up eating crow.
I don’t know what soneobe said he said 30 years ago that was racist, and I don’t care.
All I know is that nomatter who Trump picks for his cabinet they will be smeared as sure as the sun rises in the east. It’s so predictable it’s laughable.
Nobody has a harsh word to say about Jeff Sessions for thirty years, and suddenly he’s a racist the very day Trump picks him - what a coincidence - and the only ‘evidence’ offered is that the left tried to smear him thirty years ago over the same hearsay.
The Alabama Democratic Party, however, has no problem with the last two Attorneys General being racist haters of white people.
Well, there is certainly hostility in the room. All members of the Democratic party in Alabama are ex officio members of KKK, so they have little room to carp about how Jeff Sessions may or may not have opined about the KKK decades ago.
They are in the minority anyway, so how much weight does their assertion carry?
