When a student reached out to an adjunct professor at Colorado State University to say that he would be turning an assignment late because he couldn't deal with the election results this past Tuesday, the professor didn't respond in the way he probably expected.
The message, captured and sent exclusively to Independent Journal Review, is found here:
The student begins, ...I just wanted to let you know why I haven't posted yet this week. The election of the most evil hateful person to ever run for president has me very upset and I need time to process it all and get centered...
Although the ask seems to be more of a statement than a question.
The Colorado State University professor simply responded by sending the student an excerpt of the late work policy.

The professor gave Independent Journal Review an additional comment on the incident and her insight into the disturbing trend she is seeing among college students and professors today, in the wake of the recent election, saying:
Students need to realize that we live in a republic where majority rules. That means that the person you voted for doesn't always win, but you have to just deal with it. I was upset both times Obama won, but I dealt with it. Colleges and professors who baby their students because they're upset over the election are not doing them any favors. Throwing a tantrum or becoming a basket case when life doesn't go your way is not how adults behave.

One melted snowflake.

The student’s a cupcake with pink frosting and little sprinkles on top. He really should just stick to basket weaving and drum circles and let the grownups handle the politics.
Hillary called me a “deplorable!”
I’m sure she meant for me to be devastated by the news.
But I considered the source and MOVED ON!
I can’t help but wonder just what the Hades these “precious little snowflakes” are gonna do, the first time they get fired from a job....
I can’t believe this guy is still upset ... eight years later.
I dont know. I’m old school. We used to call these “snowflakes”...p*ssies.
Professor forced to apologize in 5, 4, 3...
One of the evil effects of Obama giving federal contract preference to companies that meet diversity and inclusion standards the feds set that rely on far left wing NGO measures like the “out and equal index” is that companies go out of their way to socially engineer the workforce.
It is cheaper to have implicit bias lectures, send out company newsletters that promote various far left wing political points, set up employee resource groups for various minorities, have lots of training sessions tied to promotions and raises, and of course they have to track all the metrics of the current workforce and applicants.
Who gets all these human resources, diversity and inclusion department and administrative jobs? The women’s studies major, the black studies major, the liberal arts grads ...
Making it even worse was the supply chain aspect saying your SUPPLIERS had to meet these standards, pushing it to companies that just supplied to people who built missiles, jets, provided services, etc.
So many of them have and will continue to get these HR jobs in the private sector (done to get the government money) and public sector jobs until Trump changes the guidelines to say that insanity is no longer a factor in winning federal contracts.
Until then, they’ll get sympathy from many HR departments because the HR staff ARE SJWs.
“Adjunct professor”? “Professor” should mean full professor, tenured, but the term “professor” is often used more loosely. She may be a part-time instructor without tenure...that she admits not having been happy about Obama’s wins may mean she doesn’t get rehired...unless she is someone who can’t easily be replaced.
Uuuuhhhh...the first rime they GET a job....
They won't ever be fired - they're going to get government jobs.
Unfortunately Professors like that in institutions of higher learning are rare.
Ding ding ding!!!
Adjuncts are generally very vulnerable and disposable in academe. No tenure.
This one may come to regret that this matter became public.
EXACTLY!!!
“until Trump changes the guidelines to say that insanity is no longer a factor in winning federal contracts.”
And that needs to be one of his FIRST priorities upon being sworn in...his first 100 days will be BUSY!!!!!! :)
What job?..........nobody will hire them!..........
Students need to realize that we live in a republic where majority rules.
Not in a republic it doesn't. And that is why we have an Electoral College, and why the densely populated urban centers can't dictate to the rest of the country via their "majorities."
