A fashion designer whose styles have been sported by Michelle Obama is boycotting dressing Melania Trump, saying she encourages “my fellow designers to do the same” when it comes to outfitting the next first lady.
"As one who celebrates and strives for diversity, individual freedom and respect for all lifestyles, I will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady," Sophie Theallet wrote in a letter this week.
“The rhetoric of racism, sexism, and xenophobia unleashed by her husband’s presidential campaign are incompatible with the shared values we live by,” Theallet wrote about President-elect Donald Trump.
“I encourage my fellow designers to do the same,” she continued.

Melania could start her own company, but she’s too in tune with what her duty is right now, being the best First Lady she can be.

There might even be a rivalry for style attention between Melania and Ivanka. There will be no argumentative discussions about the cut of pant suit slacks.

My mother was a clothing designer for the country club/celebrity set in Palm Springs back in the 60s and 70s. In the 80’s (after she married my stepfather) she designed jewelry for the same people. She always said “I don’t care what they think or do as long as my designs are out there and their checks don’t bounce”
Anyone can pick up some of these dresses at local Salvation Army Thrift Stores.

I am very proud of them and the wins that are coming every day. I count this designer refusing to dress Melania a win also! How many wins would Low Energy Jeb have given us by now???

Some, unlike Trump, are destined to obscurity. Melania Trump can dress well without this petty, vindictive Fashion designer. I would not buy her stuff, but if it were given to me it would serve as cleaning cloths or drop cloths.
