You want to talk about one thing.
Others want to talk about the Second Amendment.
Do I want the Second Amendment revisited, narrowly defined?
It’s still my take that opening up a Convention of the States opens the Constitution to whims we cannot control.
I don’t trust that process anymore than I trust Congress, the Senate, or the SCOTUS.
I didn’t suggest the Constitution could be done away with.
Granted any amendments can be proposed to repeal another amendment. But I seriously doubt that an amendment to repeal the 2nd amendment would even get consideration, but that’s just me.
I was only using the example of an amendment abolishing the Constitution itself as an extreme, not that you were implying anything of that nature.
Your reasoning is sound IMO. I just don’t truth any processes these days.
If I told you it made no sense at all that a SCOTUS justice would term fines from Obamacare to be taxes, you’d think I was on pretty safe grounds.
It would bolster that thought to remember that the Democrats had denied that they were taxes, and Roberts till went with it,
So I am very leery. I could be wrong as can be, but that’s my overall take on it.
I appreciate the nice response.
So the GOP picked up 3 governorships! Very nice!
If he does nothing else, that would be enough.
Yes. And in two years the Democrats have many U. S. Senators exposed, and we have very few being exposed.
We should pick up more in the U. S. Senate at that time.
You know what, that works for me too. I still have many things on my list, and happily he seems to be hitting most of my wish list.
He’s making Obama look bad, but what’s more he’s make BW look like almost as big a bush-leaguer.
Thanks. Republicans have a solid lead in pwned states (2/3 majority): 14 vs. 5 lower houses, 20 vs 5 upper houses (by eye).
There are totals at the bottom of each column to make it easy to see the numbers...
Thank you.
“:^)
Assume the progressives had not pushed through the 17th Amendment and US Senators were still chosen by the state legislatures.
Assume again that the party in control of the state legislatures would elect a Senator from their party.
What would the composition of the US Senate look like today?
But if they are RINO’s it matters not.
Drain that swamp!
It’s a decent question, but it’s not an easy one to answer.
You’d have to go back on look at when the Senator last rolled over and look at the state Senate make-up at the time.
I’m not sure exactly how that worked either. Did the Legislature appoint two people each new session? Did the Senators serve for six years and then get replaced, or upped to serve again?
It’s a bit complex.
Drain away...
What is SJW?
Thanks.
Can you tell me what “Party RDI” means and what those 3 columns are?
Thanks for the chart!
Those are running totals for:
Republican
Democrats
Independents
If you follow a column down, you can see numbers increase as the corresponding party holds the position.
At the bottom of the columns is the total number held by each party
You are welcome...
Amen! This is not the time. The left is just salivating at the opportunity the right will give them. The rules will determine a great deal of the possible results, and the congress may decide many of the rules. This is a fools errand.
Levin’s Article V book is must reading, imo.
IMO TERM LIMITS FOR LEGISLATURE AND JUDICIARY would have a great chance w their ratings so low.
MAGA!!
