Actually Mr. Mercat and I are convinced that squirrels are aliens. I mean really, have you ever watched them defy gravity and jump from the end of one branch to another? And when they fall which is rarely, they run right back up the tree. Those stupid nests that they build in the winter in the treetops? What self respecting mammal would live in one of those in the wind and the snow. Right? They are obviously portals to the mother ship. We have one that spies on us while we eat breakfast. She sits on the railing of our deck and looks in on us to find out whether we are still alive. I’m sure she then reports back to her captain.
