Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is reportedly President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for ambassador to Israel.
Yahoo News, citing The Jerusalem Post, reports several members on the President-elect’s transition team say Huckabee will take the post as ambassador to Israel for the Trump administration.

Good pick since Huckabee has been pro-Israel, has spent time there. One of Obama’s picks for ambassador, I forgot to what country, wasn’t even sure of he location of that country.

I nominate Jean Francois Kerry to be the Climate Change Ambassador to Antarctica, based at McMurray Murdoch Station. He can report back on how ‘climate change’ is affecting those animals resident in the Antarctic. In the same vein, I recommend Algore for a similar position in the Arctic. I am sure that PM Turd-owe would be willing to allow Algore to use CFS Alert and his base of operations. He can go count polar bears.

I can see that too. Say what you will about Huck, I would never question his love for Israel.
As much as I disagree with Nanny Huckabee’s positions on issues, I don’t mind him as ambassador to Israel. If this is what it takes to reward all parts of the Trump coalition, so be it.

Huck’s pretty funny, btw. I got to like him the more I saw him - but not as POTUS. Too nice of a guy to be POTUS.

He’s not 100 pure conservative, but I believe for the gig in question Huck would work only in the best interests of the US and Israel, which is really the only consideration.
I agree with that to a point. Not trying to be argumentative, but when a guy shows that he’s capable of getting it wrong when a situation is crystal clear, it causes me to wonder what he’ll get wrong when on station in another nation.
Remember, he’ll be working in close association with the State Department that notoriously gets it wrong.
Granted, Trump’s Secretary of State will probably be good. The problem is the career diplomats that seem to go squishy over time. They seem to become internationalists rather than true representatives of what’s best for the U.S., and then it’s allies.
I think he’ll do a good job. We’ll see. (if he is in fact appointed)
I’m thinking as long as Trump is calling the ultimate shot, there won’t be too much room for screwups.

Indeed! And what I find interesting about the Huckabee pick is that the former Arkansas governor- who knows the Clintons well- will now be ambassador to a country they undoubtedly despise. Trump is winning every day!
