Speaker Paul Ryan, who just won his 10th term in the House, said Thursday that he backs President-elect Donald Trump's call for term limits for members of Congress.

Hope so. Thanks for info.
He must know this bill doesn’t have a snowballs chance. Don’t trust Paul RYNO.
Usually, this sort of thing means they know they've got enough votes lined up to defeat it, so they can allow those who would experience problems in their districts to vote in favor of it. All canned and prearranged, in other words.
It won’t pass. But Ryan doesn’t want to go public as trying to block it.
I agree with the Senate terms and would rather see (4) two year terms for the House. But it is a great idea.
This is why there is an Article V movement.
Lets take a wait and see attitude until he actually submits a bill to congress for a vote.
How about this: A member of Congress cannot serve more than 12 years. By specifying Congress, both the House and the Senate are included.
Also need something to prevent multiple 12 year terms with a term off in the middle. 12 years and you’re done for life.
I’m not a big believer in term limits. To me it’s going to put downward pressure on the age of Congress members, which will likely mean on average they’ll be more left-leaning.
House members are 2-year terms and should stay that way. They are the most accountable to the people.
I’d rather see the Senate changed to 4 year terms.
Which is how it should be done. The people should get to decide whether the Congressman is performing up to snuff. What’s the point of kicking out someone who represents your values and is doing a good job based on an arbitrary time limit?
Grandfathering in all current members might be the only way it could pass.
While you’re at it, force all Congresscritters on the same medical plans as us commoners, no vesting until at least 7 years on the job, all pay increases go to the voters, and no legalized insider trading.
Remember this so we can remind him when he opposes Trump on Term limits.
They will vote for it if they can include an extremely generous grandfather clause.
They won't, but see post 35.
If this is going to be done then the amendment has to come from the states. It isn't going to make it out of Congress.
Article V convention.
2/3 of both houses and 3/4 of states so basically pie in the sky.
House is a two year term - we should consider one yr so we can kick them when they tick us off - that or recall ability
