Specifically because of his history, it would NOT be surprising to find out that it was Ted Cruz himself, not Donald Trump, who requested the meeting and asked for the job.

Yesterday, I heard Rudy say that he didn’t want to be AG. He pretty much said PHEW, intimating that he wouldn’t have to make the decision to go after ankles.

Cruz was born in Canada. Arturo is not eligible to run for president. Anyone who can’t figure out what the phrase “natural born citizen” means is hopelessly delusional.
This is the main reason many of us are concerned with him putting on robes, if he can’t seem to understand the plain wording and meaning of Article 2.
Cruz as well has demonstrated over the last several months that he isn’t qualified to hold public office. Like Hillary Clinton circa `74 being called a liar and unethical by her boss, `Ted’ isn’t discouraged by his mortification and apparently wants to press on in public life.
If Trump has a job for him, maybe sweeping up around the offices, good for Ted.
But Felito really should retire to Lubbock, or Thunder Bay, and partner-up with Saul Goodman. He could have his fat, oily countenance depicted on bus stop benches: “Slow credit? NO credit ... ? No problem!”. DWI, traffic cases, personal injury. That’s Ted’s level of competence.

Yes, born in Canada to a US citizen mother, which made him a US citizen from birth:

There’s nothing to explain when you are simply wrong, which you are.
Besides, even if you were correct, and Cruz wasn’t a citizen, there is absolutely no citizenship requirement for cabinet positions, so you still wouldn’t have an actual point.

Actually, he doesn’t even have to be a citizen at all to qualify for a cabinet post, since there are no citizenship requirements at all for such positions.
So the entire argument is completely pointless.

If Cruz moves to SCOTUS Abbott will appoint someone VERY CONSERVATIVE to fill his spot!!! Cruz is not liked in the senate not that it matters but getting him confirmed will be a breeze because EVERYONE in the senate wants him gone!!!!
Why would you want someone who could render a Supreme Court ruling that a child born to a Palestinian father and an American mother in Saudi Arabia is a natural born citizen?
