And this is the main point. The Secret Service must make an example of this man to prevent future such threats to the life of a President. If they do not, security will get away from them.

People will gradually feel encouraged to go from making threats to potentially acting upon them.

Burn this guy and the crowd will take a step back and reconsider the consequences of making such threats.
