Summary
Within the university framework, no division is more central than that of Admissions. College Admissions blends together aspects of marketing, counseling, recruitment, public speaking, statistics, and psychology (to name a few), and requires a strong ethical temperament to ensure the best service is provided to prospective and future students, and their families. To be sure, from daily information sessions and open house events, to extensive national and international travel, college admissions counselors are at the forefront of university brand management and provide, in many instances, the initial point of contact for an institution’s next generation of students.
